1 Make it easy Tackle one space or area at a ti me. Starti ng

help to ensure you do not get bogged down
or discouraged.
2 ExploreLook for new storage areas, under stairs,
garage, roof atti c, when buying new
furniture think about extra storage there,
beds with draws.
3 PlanGrab a note pad and take 15 minutes to
really think about the room or space,
visualise the space as you want it to be,
before beginning. Writi ng down how you
want the space to functi on. What do you
love about the space? What’s not so good
about the space? What’s holding it back?
What do I have around the house that could
work within this space?
4 Sorti ngTime to get ruthless, be honest with yourself. Ask yourself when did you last use it, do you need it, and how will life change without it. Decide on keep, sell, give away, donate, recycle or rubbish.
5 HierarchyStore everyday items in easy to reach places where possible at eye level. Use top shelves for bulky light seasonal items. Bott om shelves for heavier items.
6 Group like with likeThis is a great one and one of my
favourites. Apply it to every cupboard or shelf in
your home and you will feel instant order. Book
shelves in colour order, or size order. Wardrobe,
pants with pants, suits with suits. I love to hang in
colour order as well. Try fi nd containers, tubs or
lovely baskets that can hold other like items.
