FACADE DETAILING
THE SPAN1
The project consisted of designing a span that reached across a 3’ opening, with each element at a maximum of 6” in length. The span’s strength was then tested with the weight of a brick to determine its structural performance.
SOLID AND VOID2
Solid vs. Void began with forming a series of voids through a solid, while maintaining structure and the overall shape of the solid form. From this the isometric axonometric drawing was generated by the incorporation of form and function into the voided spaces.
BOAT HOUSE3
The boat house on the lake of the Noxubee Wildlife Refuge was designed for a University rowing team, for the storage of the team equipment, as well as locker rooms, and areas for the team to relax when not practicing out on the water. There is water access through dock suspensions and a boat ramp.
KROGER MARKET
The Kroger Market project located in downtown Starkville, Mississippi was a given challenge with the necessity of the incorporation of brick within the facade, as well as fitting within the current formalities of the street faces of the downtown district. Another aspect of the design was a grocery market, and office spaces above, both with varying circulation and function aspects.Project Partner: Vanessa Robinson

SMITHVILLE COMPLEX5
Smithville, Mississippi was violently devastated by an F5 tornado, and the assignment was to design a complex consisting of a library, courthouse, police station, and town officials’ offices. Many of the design concepts came from attending town meetings to discuss with the citizens of Smithville their desires for the new town.Project Partner: Vanessa Robinson
ARMENIA WORKOUT FACILITY6
This project in Yerevan, Armenia consisted of working with clients via virtual video meetings to discuss the design program and concepts. The challenge was working with clients who had high expectations and a low budget to achieve their visions of the new gym facility, as well as working with the local building materials and language barrier.
FACADE DETAILING7
The facade is a series of curtain wall systems, one comprised of a marble template in varying sizes, textures and depths. The thinnest marble is a resin sealed thin slab that allows light to pass through to give a glowing appearance from the interior, and is lit by an interior lighting system within the wall. This being a southern facing facade in Mississippi, the other curtain wall consists of solar glazing which is intended to collect energy to operate the lighting system of the marble curtain wall. This was strictly a facade project, breaking away from the building interior functions.Project Partner: Vanessa Robinson
