Anchor Club

All Girl Club

● Visits the Nursing Home

● Reads to elementary students

● “Caroling for Cans”Etc.

Club requires 2 service hours per month. The girls are involved in several different service projects & a T-shirt is included in the fee. Anchor Club hosts prom every spring for juniors and seniors.

Art Club

The Art Club is devoted to giving students the opportunity to come and participate in arts and crafts activities. The Art Club is a place for artistic people to be creative. It allows students with busy schedules who can’t take Art during school hours to stay after and participate in different projects. To sign up or get more information, contact Ms. Russell.

Bass Club Bass Club is a fantastic opportunity for students to grow their love for fishing. Members compete in fishing tournaments throughout the year. There are 12 tournaments in addition to the state tournament.

● Students must complete eight service hours. ● $40 fee plus the cost of the jersey. Fundraisers

sponsored by the club are an easy way to achieve your goal.

Some things to consider:

● Students must provide their own gear

● It is recommended that you have your own boat captain

● Your original teammate is the one you stay with throughout your career

Beta Club

Interested students need a 3.0 GPA, and teacherrecommendation. The first year the fee is $25, every year after the fee is $10. Students must have 15 service hours per year to maintain membership. In the fall semester you travel to Nashville to compete against other schools in the TN Beta Club Convention. Contact Ms. Fox for more information.

Cover to CoverIf you are a bookworm, this student lead book club is for you. The club meets in the Media Center once a month to discuss readings. Students will receive pins for graduation. Contact Ms. Keck for more information.

DECA DECA is a career technical student organization geared towards helping students develop marketing skills. Through exciting events, students learn networking skills and how to function in competitive work environments.

FBLA

FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) is a career technical student organization that helps students

learn basic skills in business, marketing, management, and finance. FBLA also helps with community service projects like Santa's Elves.

FCA

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes engages athletes, students, and coaches to grow in their faith in Christ and in sports. It is a place for students to gather before school twice a month and worship God. It is not required for members to be involved in athletics, but most in the club are.

FCCLA

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is closely tied with Ms. Isbill’s Family and Consumer Science class. FCCLA competes in competitions and does various acts of community service.

FFA is an agricultural club that helps teach future generations the importance of the agricultural industry and develops future leaders. For more information see Mr. Harner or Mr. Kincaid.

FFA

● To join you must have one ag. class per year. ● Participate in career development contests including

horse and cattle judging.● Attend State and National Conventions.● Receive a state degree, pins, or medallions upon

graduation.

The German American Partnership Program is the largest bilateral student exchange between America and Germany. The program is designed to build relationships with people of other cultures. WV students travel to Germany for two weeks and afterwards host the German students in TN.

Hiking Club

The Hiking Club is perfect for anyone who loves being in nature. The club takes several trips throughout the year to various trails around Tennessee and Georgia. Overnight camping trips are available as well as one day hikes. No experience is needed as hikes range in difficulty and length. See Ms. Shrestha for more information.

The Health Occupation Students of America is an organization for future healthcare providers. The officers of the club and the competitors will receive a cord at graduation. To find out more information or to sign up see Ms. Harris

Humanities LeadershipHumanities Leadership is led by Ms. Kier and students are chosen to be part of this leadership team. You must be in the Humanities Academy to be selected. The leadership team brainstorms ways to improve the Humanities Academy.

Junior CivitanJunior Civitan is the high school version of Civitan. They do various acts of service throughout the community with a focus on special needs service. Junior Civitan is an internationally recognized club geared towards giving back to the community. Ms. Hammer also keeps the school website updated with current Junior Civitan information.

Key ClubKey Club is a student-led program whose mission is to encourage leadership through helping others. Key Club offers many service opportunities for its members including

MBA Leadership

MBA Leadership improves the MBA by providing service, publicity, and support to MBA activities. In order to join students must be recommended by a teacher. To get more information or to sign up, contact Ms. McChesney.

Mu Alpha Theta Mu Alpha Theta is a highly recognized National Mathematics Honor Society for students with at least a 3.0 GPA and enrolled in a 3rd level math class. All members will receive a cord at graduation. See Ms. Scarbrough for more information or to sign up.

Mustang MentorsThe hosts of the school, Mustang Mentors attend formal and informal events, including:

Students must be a junior or senior with experience at WV. A teacher recommendation and an application process is required but there are no hours needed. See Ms. Pickens for more information.

National English Honor Society is a nationally recognized club for students who have a passion for English and writing. For graduation students will receive a cord and a medal.

National English Honor Society

NHS

NHS (National Honor Society) is a club for students that have excellent character and do well in school. Students can only get into the club by being invited as sophomores and juniors. The club is involved in community service projects such as the community food drive.

NTHSThe National Technical Honor Society is a club designed to give students opportunities they would not normally have in the technological fields. Students are required to take a technology class and have at least a B in that class.

● Membership by invitation from a technology teacher● $40 fee● Members must complete 20 service hours and 8 of

which must be completed with the club ● Students must also maintain a 3.0 GPA● Entrance is open to sophomores● Members receive an NTHS cord for graduation

Oceanography Oceanography Club is perfect for students who love the ocean. Students involved have the opportunity to go on several exciting field trips including the Tennessee Aquarium and the Georgia Aquarium. Each year, a small group of students are taken to Florida and are able to learn how to scuba dive.

SADD

SADD is a national campaign for making good decisions, including not being distracted while driving and making wise choices to be safe in general.

SNHS

Science National Honor Society is a club that honors students who excel in their science classes. SNHS also requires students to get involved in their community.

● 2 teacher recommendations● Pay $5 dues● Keep grades in good standing● Sophomores- take 2 science courses ● Juniors/Seniors- take 1 science course above

Student Government Association

Student Government is a fun club that serves the school, students,faculty, and staff.

To be involved in Student Government students need:

Skills USA

Skills USA allows students to compete in various fields. There are two competitions, one regional and one state competition. The fields students can compete in include Criminal Justice, Engineering, and Information Technology.

Some things to consider:

● Maintain a 3.0 GPA ● Teacher recommendation required● Must pay $18 fee● Sophomore or higher to compete● Scholarship opportunities for winning state Contact:

● It allows students to become comfortable presenting in front of any audience

● Members attend approximately one competition each month and practice two times a week

● There are no annual fees but students must pay entry fees for each tournament

Speech and DebateWalker Valley is a member of the National Speech and Debate Association. Speech and Debate provides an opportunity to learn how to confidently speak to a crowd as well as present in different arenas whether it is theatrical, debate, or extemporaneous.

STEM Leadership In STEM Leadership students organize, plan, orchestrate various events such as

Members must have a teacher recommendation and attend STEM events.

World Language

World Language club focuses on giving back to both the school and the community, specifically families from different cultures here in Bradley County. To join students must take at least one foreign language class.
