EXECUTIVE SUMMARY.

In El Salvador the semi-urban and rural communities , using wood as a source of energy for cooking , besides being inefficient , only used 30% of its potential energy is the most problematic and aggravating health conditions of members of the family, especially women , children and the elderly, to the extent that it becomes the second high disease morbidity in the country , according to Health Ministry statistics . Furthermore, in El Salvador , different studies show that many women are single heads of households who must wear to their homes and livelihoods are poor and do not have access to a kitchen that uses gas for the price of this raw material that last 3 years raised its price . This project will benefit 12 families in rural areas of the department of La Libertad, El Salvador , helping them save on their household economy .

The expected results of this project can be summarized as follows:

• Reduce by 70% the consumption of firewood in schools.

• Reduce by 90% the emission of CO and CO2 to the atmosphere.

• Increase knowledge of the students in respect to forest resources and understanding of the effects of misusing them.

• Achieve significant improvement in health of the beneficiary population, with decreased respiratory diseases as a result of the smoke, and by the decline in gastrointestinal diseases by bad cooking of food.

Project Description.

For these reasons, it is imperative to find a practical , effective and consistent with the objective of benefiting families and especially children and that this teaching is in practice in their homes , and demonstrate that the use of these cookers ecological health of families and saving is effective , So this project will firewood saving stoves , 12 families of La Libertad. To make this project sustainable , high- impact, eliminate smoke everyday that is exposed and all the people living in the school and find consistency in his house , where he lives further economic problems by searching on wood with traditional cuisine , as the harmful effects of smoke in the airways, and the audience , especially in women , grandparents and themselves, who spend most of the day at home.

General objective

The goal is sustained through the use of efficient stoves, drastically reducing the harmful health effects of these families, so that chronic damage to exposed states that have cut, with the benefit to the household economy and institutional economics of all public health centers serving the areas of action. Additionally, economic output decreases and mass consumption of firewood. This step will lead to families to save that money and invest in the education of their children, even to send more children to school. This objective to be successful must have two fundamental school and their families.
