You Asked For It Week 4Q: Is it OK to not be OK?

“…I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time He said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in

weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my

weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Ephesians 1:13-14 13 “And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, He identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that He will give us the inheritance He promised and that He has purchased us to be His own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify Him.”

God is a revealer! He loves to give us insight into the things that we could never know without Him. With His revelation in scripture and in Jesus we find supernatural truth that answers so many of our most grueling questions. At the point where His Truth meets our confusion, we face a very critical crisis. Will we accept His answer? Or will we devise our own? The following section will help us respond to God’s answer to our toughest questions. We will put some appropriate action to the truths God revealed to us.

b. Do you want further study in this area? How should you increase your engagement with scripture to help you remove elements of confusion in your life? Ask someone in your group for help in finding more of God’s answer.

c. How would you share God’s answer with a friend who is wrestling with this question?

Thank God together in prayer for His answer to this question.Pray for Each Other “Lord, thank You for revealing Your truth and goodness into my turmoil around the point of our assurance of salvation in Christ. Help me share my faith with confidence in the powerful work that Jesus accomplished to save everyone who believes.”
