● Our heritage was built around meeting the payment card industry (PCI) data security standards (DSS)

● Examples include ecommerce merchants, payment page companies, processors and fraud protection companies

● Layered Tech protects their credit card data/transactions● Layered Tech was the first hosting provider to support the full PCI

● How has Layered Tech evolved from being a specialist hosting company to handling areas that need rigorous data security? And does that transition into cloud computing?

● Cloud Computing is an infrastructure solution to meet customer requirements

● By virtualizing in the cloud, it gives the customer more flexibility by becoming more ‘elastic’

● Layered Tech has a multi-tenant compliance cloud, which is really a non-public community cloud for PCI clients (examples: groups of banks or health care providers)

● Layered Tech puts the same level of security and compliance practices behind the compliance cloud as we do with our physical compliance environments

● Example: Layered Tech client, CRE Secure (hosted payment page company), is running on a compliant cloud according to full PCI standards just like in a dedicated environment

● Why would a company that needs specialization go to Layered Tech as opposed to just going to their network provider (AT&T, Verizon, cable companies, etc.)?

● Only a few companies offer full PCI compliance management● Some might offer security tools, but they won’t provide the

management● Many companies offer a commoditized price but it’s up to the customer

to handle the security and compliance requirements● Recent survey shows [69%] of cloud service providers don’t believe

security is their responsibility1 [91% do not provide security as a service from the cloud today]

● Layered Tech takes a different approach and believes security and compliance is our responsibility (not the customer’s responsibility)!
