Running three separate businesses keeps managing director Darryn De La Soul extremely busy so it is vital that the administrative side of the business is runs smoothly. With a growing operation to manage the Excel based system was clearly no longer up to the task so change was clearly required. More importantly, Darryn did not feel well supported by her existing accountants. She was searching for a service she could trust to put her needs centre stage. We migrated onto the Xero cloud accounting platform as a central hub for business workflows. The software is web-based so it is extremely quick to setup and can all be be done remotely. With Soulsound based in London and our office in Chester tools like Xero and Skype make this approach very easy. In fact we spend more time face to face because it is much easier for many clients to dial up a Skype video call than it is to take time out of the office and make a dedicated journey to visit in person. Through migrating both the agency and online businesses onto Xero Darryn now has a level of visibility into her operation that was simply impossible before. It has increased the control of payments going out of the business and makes it very easy to send statements to customers who are in arrears. With a range of ‘Add Ons’ available through the Xero eco system, linking to eCommerce tools for the online business is also a significant advantage.
