Clinical PracticeOpportunity to Transform Lives and Ease Suffering
The healing process is opportunistic in that it waits for chaos as an entry wayfor wholesome reparative process that begins with a problem
The challenge is to assist the patient to shift from a relatedness to thedisease process to a sense of fascination with being fully alive, lit up!
Initially we help people with their suffering and through detoxification andrestorative principles while also reducing the burden of stress imposed bythe aberrant lifestyle it is possible to flatten the physiological responses thatare called disease
Degenerative processes can be reversed, tissues can be renewed andenlivened, and general functionality can be increased all this looksmacroscopically like increased energy, better disposition, increased libido,
and a more prolific creativity In the healing process we must seize the day and help people learn about
the increase in life that they are experiencing while they are healing theirdisease
Clinical PracticeOpportunity to Transform Lives and Ease Suffering
Especially with chronic severe imbalances, like cancer or autoimmunedysregulation, oftentimes the only way to move through the healing processis with the encouragement of the more subjective aspects of the patientspresentation like feeling better
As practitioners if we are not connecting the dots between physiology andstate of mind or attitude we are not helping people awaken to the shift fromdisease orientation to a focus on vitality
Indeed as a practitioner often times my confidence in long-term chronicdegenerative cases wherein the progress is slow to observe arises from theapparent improvement in quality of life and clarity of mind that is moreimmediate
In a similar way even when apparent improvement is observed in adegenerative condition with no outward elevation of attitude I may feelconcerned as to whether profound transformative healing is really underway
Indeed there is a difference between healing and therapy, in that with thelatter after discontinuity of therapeutic devices everything just goes back tothe way it was not the goal

Dont ask what the world
needs. Ask what makes you
come alive and go do it.
Because what the world needs
is people who have come alive.

Revisiting the paradigm of disease
All disease processes are intelligent, directed
processes
Disease processes equal healing processes
All disease process either kills the organism
or makes it stronger, either way it brings
change
that which doesnt kill us makes us stronger. -

Eternal truth -Wisdom arises through the simple
act of giving someone orsomething your full attention.
Attention is primordial intelligence,
consciousness itself. It joins theperceiver and the perceived in aunifying field of awareness. It is the

Clinical Depression In depression, regardless of the cause (e.g. metabolic, nutritional, social), distortions
in thinking (e.g. catastrophizing or all-or-nothing attitudes) are usually present.Selective attention to these distorted thoughts is the norm for the depressed patients. One aspect of treatment is identifying these thoughts, elucidating the nature of thedistortion and testing the logic behind the automatic assumption. For a fulldescription of these distortions read Cognitive Therapy of Depression by Aaron Becket al or Feeling Good by David Burns.
Experience has shown that organ functions contribute to the biochemical status thatgives rise to healthy or less healthy thinking and cognitive choice making
It is possible to move from the organ to the state of mind or from the attitude back tothe organ imbalance thus the practitioner never need be at a loss for the potentialto help shift the experience
For example fear promotes anticipatory anxiety (activating the dorsal raphe nucleuswhich in turn primes the limbic system for panic (locus coeruleus) generating a feed-forward cycle via the amygdala and locus coeruleus and HPA axis developing
legitimate panic and subsequent depression
So anything that can be done to influence these systems and neurological cascadescan assist an evolution in state of mind and perception this can be the trick to shiftexperience to feel differently is to think new thoughts
Seven Pillars always help Without intricate assessment a number of basic modulations can be introduced that
shift the state of mind, without any outward counseling
Endocrine pillar support of the HPA axis and individual glands
Glycemic Management with cortisol and insulin down-regulation
Bioterrain support with mineral repletion reducing acidosis and this promotingparasympathetic nervous states can offset anxiety
Inflammatory pillar support and food allergy reduction will shift the cytokine cascadesand HPA state of readiness for crisis
Immune pillar support liberates the oppressed immune system and cytokinecongestion alerting states of reactivity and malaise
Digestive pillar support and pre and probiotic encouragement can result in reductionof leaky gut syndrome and subsequent stress generally enhanced gut lining healthresults in a state of wellbeing that defies the circumstantial conditional world
Six of the seven indentified pillars can make a direct contribution to state of mind
To see this in practice, and personally as we balance our own physiology, leads to arelationship understanding between the physical and emotional

SomatoLimbic RelationshipThe body is a circuit board for the flow of spirit wherein each organ and
system represent specific devices to translate vibrational reality intophysical function.
When we say chemical imbalances impair psychologically and spiritually
it is because we recognize that biochemistry and physiology are the
means we have to translate eternal reality (spirit) into temporal
expression and experience (body & ego).
Each disease relates to a pattern of thinking and difficulty that is as much
part of the healing as the physiology. Likewise health creates a pattern of
thinking and wisdom. We are the feng shui experts of the physical body.
Although strictly physical in our approach we are impacting the thinking
and emotional development and even the spiritual realization, just as
Jesus did in the wilderness fasting for 40 days before he began his
outward ministry and many eastern traditions direct as a path to
enlightenment.

Approach to wisdom
Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your
heart and try to love the questions themselves
like locked rooms or books that are written in a
foreign tongue. The point is to live everything.
Live the question now. Perhaps you will then
gradually, without noticing it, live your way
some distant day into the answers

Q&A:
1) They have never found a patently closed artery on adead person. When the basil constriction relaxes, theartery that looks closed, opens up to some degree. Allheart function is to some degree being influenced by vaso
constrictive states. We have a lot of emotional vasoconstriction.
2) There are really only 2 diseases - heart disease andcancer. Both of them are dysregulations of the immune-in

Inflammatory systems in different directions. When the heart becomesinflamed and sticky, we get plaguing and then we get heart disease. When the immune system doesn't have enough Ca to be able to identifyits invaders like cancer, it becomes intolerant and you get sick. These
are the 2 directions that the body goes in. The number one treatmentfor cancer and heart disease is garlic.

Epimune Complex Research: Effective and
Comprehensive Support for Immune Function
Primary Objective: Assess Effect of
Epimune Complex on Immune Markers:
Salivary IgA
Complete blood count (CBC)
Immunoglobulin E (IgE)
Cluster of differentiation (CD)4/8
CD19
Cytokines
Red-blood-cell zinc
To assess the effect of Epimune Complex consumption on
immune markers, Standard Process designed an open-
label pilot study. This type of trial does not use a controlgroup (open label) and is used to identify areas for further
research (pilot study). While an open-label pilot study
does not result in clinical recommendations, it is a great
way to identify interesting findings for further examination.
Sponsored by Standard Process and managed by a
contract research organization, this Institutional Review
Board-approved study examined how Epimune Complex
affects both the white blood cells of the immune system
and surrogate markers of their activity. Subjects had blood
drawn at the beginning of the study and again at the end.
These samples were tested for a number of biomarkersthought to indicate immune function and activity.
Trend increase in salivary immunoglobulin A (IgA
Overall increase in multiple immune markers
Statistically significant increase
in red-blood-cell zinc
Statistical and clinically significant
increase in leptin

1. This finding is consistent with the results
of a study based on one ingredient (EpiCor)
where salivary IgA trended up at four weeks
and became statistically significant at
eight weeks: Jensen et al. 2008. The Open
Nutrition Journal, 2:68-75.
2. Zinc is an important cofactor in many
processes associated with immune system
function in general. In red blood cells:
Zinc may support cell membrane
strength. (ODell, BL. 2000.J Nutr.
130(5):1432S-436S)
Zinc may provide protection from
oxidative damage. (Wood, M. October
29, 2002. United States Depart. of
Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service)
3. Leptin is a protein involved in
communication between the body and the
brain regarding fat storage and metabolism.
Results
The information presented below is excerpted from the unpublished research report.
Salivary IgA: As an antibody, IgA acts as a sentinel for foreign
matter. The report states, In this study, Salivary IgA increased
by 11.4% after 30 days of exposure to the test product [Epimune
Complex]. This increase from baseline didnot reach statistical
significance.1
Overall increase in multiple immune markers throughout
immune system: To begin to identify exactly how Epimune
Complex interacts with the body, this study examined whiteblood cells and the immune systems communication molecules,
cytokines. The report states, The Epimune Complex product
appears to increase immune markers in the humoral and cellular
immune system.
Red-blood-cell zinc: The report states, In this study, RBC Zinc
increased by increased by 26.4% after 30 days of exposure to the
test product [Epimune Complex].
This increase from baseline was statistically significant (p = 0.014).
Future research is needed to determine if raising this particular
marker of zinc is supportive of overall health.2
Leptin: The report states, In this study, leptin increased by 36.9%
after 30 days of exposure to the test product [Epimune Complex].
This increase from baseline DID reach statistical significance [p =
0.036] and has potential implications for the management of satiety
as well as in immune function regulation. This finding, which is both
statistically and clinically significant, was an interesting surprise and
requires more research to determine the mechanism of action.3
More research on these findings is needed, but this pilot study provides valuable insight into how
Epimune Complex works with the human bodys natural immune response.

Epimune ComplexA Vegetarian Immune Support Supplement Designed to Balance
Immune Response and Intended for Long-Term Use
Immune system coordination is a complicated, total-body effort. To describe it
broadly, the systems response starts in our bone-marrow tissue, where immunecells are made. Organs like the spleen help clean our blood. Glands like the
thymus act as a vessel for cell maturation. And the lymph system, made up of
vessels, nodes, and other tissues, moves or houses immune cells so they can
respond when and where theyre needed. Outposts of lymph tissue can be found
throughout our body, from the familiar ones like tonsils, to the less obvious ones in
our airways and digestive system.
This massive, body-wide system has one goal: protection. Every cell has a specific
coating that defines that cell as part of the body, or self. This coating is what our
cellular defenders, white blood cells, look for as they patrol. White blood cells are
diverse and meet a variety of needs, from acting as sentinels, to directing immune
response, to engaging in an active response against anything perceived as nonself.
These immune cells work hard to keep us safe, and because they have a short life, our
body is continuously replenishing them.
Thats where Epimune Complex comes in. This product is designed to use the
synergistic effects of scientifically supported ingredients to comprehensively
feed the immune system for overall support.
What does Epimune Complex contain?
This product contains EpiCor, Turkey Tail mushroom powder, maitake
mushroom powder, MaitakeGold 404, calcium lactate, acerola, and zinc.
EpiCor is a powder made from dried, fermented brewers yeast grown under
normal conditions, fed a proprietary blend of nutrients, and then stressed
under anaerobic conditions.
Turkey tail mushroom powder (Coriolus versicolor) is made from a mushroom
that grows widely across North America, Asia, and Europe. The turkey tail, also
called cloud mushroom, has a long history of use in traditional Asian medicine.
This mushroom is included in writings that date from the Ming Dynasty in
China. One author, Li Shi Zhen, writes that this mushroom is good for the spirit,
vital energy, and vigor.
Maitake mushroom powder (Grifola frondosa) is made from another mushroom
with a long history of use in traditional Asian medicine. The first recorded use
of maitake, also known as sheeps head or hen of the woods, was between
200 B.C. and 200 A.D. It was used to improve spleen and stomach ailments,
as well as to calm nerves and minds.
MaitakeGold 404 is a patented extract from maitake mushrooms that takes
advantage of the health-supporting compounds in these mushrooms. This extract
contains immune-modulating compounds consisting of glucan-protein complexes.

Whole Food Philosophy
Our founder, Dr. Royal Lee, challenged
common scientific beliefs by choosing a
holistic approach of providing nutrients
through whole foods. His goal was to provide
nutrients as they are found in naturein a
whole food state where he believed their
natural potency and efficacy would be
realized. Dr. Lee believed that when nutrients
remain intact and are not split from their
natural associated synergistsknown andunknownbioactivity is markedly enhanced
over isolated nutrients. Following this
philosophy, even a small amount of a whole
food concentrate will offer enhanced
nutritional support, compared to an isolated
or fractionated vitamin. Therefore, one should
examine the source of nutrients rather than
looking at the quantities of individual
nutrients on product labels.

Epimune ComplexHow Epimune Complex Keeps You Healthy (continued)
Calcium is an essential mineral thats primarily stored in our bones and teeth.
Even though the calcium levels in our cells account for a small amount of the
total calcium used by the body, they are essential for cell functioning.
Acerola is a source of vitamin C, which is an important micronutrient needed
for skin, mucosa, and cell function.
Zinc is a mineral that has been used to support the bodys natural healing function.
How Epimune Complex Keeps You Healthy
Supports a diversity of immune cells
The immune systems primary role is to recognize nonself or foreign
substances in the body and actively respond to them. The ingredients in
Epimune Complex were chosen for their theoretical synergistic effect on the
immune system, as well as their research-supported effects on immune cellsinvolved in normal immune system response. These cells include:
Natural killer cells: Also called NK cells, these white blood cells contain a
package of chemicals (called a granule). When NK cells come into contact witha nonself cell, they bind to their target, aim, and deliver a burst of lethal
chemicals into the nonself cells.
B cells: When a B cell comes into contact with something nonself, it grabsthe protein from the foreign cell and, with the help of a T cell, makesantibodies (proteins) that find, bind, and aid in the killing the foreign cell.
After that initial interaction, B cells become memory B cells that rememberthat specific nonself cell and respond more quickly and robustly if it shows
up again.
Antibodies: When a nonself cell is found, B cells produce antibodies thatbind to and kill foreign cells so they cant cause trouble. Antibodies, also
called immunoglobulins, come in a variety of types. For example, immunoglobulin A (IgA) guards body entrances like the mouth and nose, while immunoglobulin E (IgE) is usually associated with immune cells called
