Mandy Burrows BSc BVMS MANZCVS (Canine Medicine) FANZCVS Dermatology)

Mandy is a Fellow of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Veterinary Dermatology and a registered specialist in veterinary dermatology. She is a consultant in veterinary dermatology and has two dermatology practices in Perth, Western Australia that provide secondary and tertiary referral advice for skin, ear and allergy problems in dogs, cats and horses. She lectures in dermatology at Murdoch University Veterinary Hospital and she teaches undergraduate veterinary students and the dermatology unit of the Masters in Veterinary Medicine at both Murdoch and Massey University, New Zealand. Mandy currently serves on the Council of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and is a member of the Advisory Committee for the Registration of Veterinary Specialists. She is the new co-editor of the international journal Veterinary Dermatology. She is a member of the Australian Advisory Board for Infectious Diseases in companion animals and is the current Australian and New Zealand representative and the Secretary of the World Association for Veterinary Dermatology. She has extensive experience with clinical dermatology in companion animals and she enjoys teaching dermatology to veterinary undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Wayne Rosenkrantz DVM Diplomate ACVD

Dr Rosenkrantz is a 1982 UC Davis graduate, who completed a private practice internship in 1983 and joined Dr Craig Griffin for a residency-training program in 1983. His program was combined with interaction at the Medical School at UC Irvine and he achieved Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) in 1986. He has served on the ACVD and Australian Board of Examiners. He is past chairman of the ACVD Research Funding Committee and has served on multiple past and present World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology Organization Committees. He is also currently a board member of the World Association for Veterinary Dermatology (WAVD), which functions as a governing body for the WCVD and promotes the advancement of veterinary dermatology internationally. He is a past president of the executive board of the ACVD and has served on the ACVD board for 12 years. Dr Rosenkrantz was awarded the DVM Pharmaceutical Award of Excellence for his contributions to veterinary dermatology. He actively lectures throughout the United States and abroad and has also been an instructor for the European School of Advanced Veterinary Studies since 2005. He has published many articles and book chapters on small animal and equine dermatology, including significant contributions to the Current Veterinary Dermatology, the Science and Art of Therapy and well as the therapy section in the 7th edition of Muller and Kirk’s Small Animal Dermatology. He will also be a co-editor of a new textbook, Veterinary Allergy and Immunology.

Greg Burton BVSc (Hons) MANZCVS (Small Animal Surgery) FANZCVS (Dermatology)

Greg graduated from the University of Queensland in 1983. After spending 10 years in general practice he completed his Membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Surgery. Greg completed his 3-year residency in Dermatology and became a Fellow of the College in Veterinary Dermatology in 1997.

Since 1999 Greg has been a director of the Skin, Ear and Allergy Service at the Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre. Since 2002, he has been the Principle Fellow in Dermatology at the University of Melbourne in addition to taking responsibility for teaching of dermatology in the veterinary faculty. Greg has authored and co-authored numerous articles in both Australian and international journals and presented both in Australia and at international conferences.

Rusty Muse DVM Diplomate ACVD MANZCVS

Dr Rusty Muse received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University and completed his residency at Animal Dermatology Clinic – Tustin and the University of California-Irvine Department of Dermatology in 1995 and became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 1996. He is also a registered specialist in dermatology in Western Australia. Dr Muse is a primary owner of the Animal Dermatology Clinics and an Executive Board member of the Animal Dermatology Clinic Management Group. He receives cases in Tustin, CA and Perth, Western Australia. He is a member of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD), the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology, the dermatology chapter of the Australia and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, and Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association.

He has been active as a Diplomate in the ACVD and is the Past President of the Executive Board for the College after serving as President from 2012-14. He has also been the past Secretary of the College, past Chair of the Research Funding Committee as well as a member and Chair of the Credentials Committee. Dr Muse was the Publicity Committee Chair for the 7th World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology (WCVD7) held in Vancouver, Canada in 2012 and is the current SubChair of the Publicity Committee for North America for WCVD8 to be held in Bordeaux, France in 2016. Dr Muse is a native of Maysville, KY and graduated from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette before being accepted to veterinary school. His outside interests include tennis and travel. Current pets include 3 great cats named Louis, Karl and a cat that adopted him that is named Rabies Marie!

The conference will be held at the newly renovated Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas in tropical Northern Queensland. Finishing early each day and with a day off in the middle of the week you will have time to laze by the pool, walk along the beach, snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef, explore the surrounds including Atherton tablelands, Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation or cheer on the toad racing at the local Port Douglas hotel.
