CLIENT BRIEF AND PROJECT PLANNING NAME: Daniel Hopkins CLIENT: I have been commissioned to create a radio advert for the soft drink Coca Cola, promoting several of its existing products as well as a new drink. Coca Cola is a global corporate brand, founded in 1886. It is a beverage corporation, manufacturer, retailer and marketer. Some of its soft drinks include its eponymous main product and its variants Diet Coke and Coke Zero as well as Dr Pepper, Fanta and Sprite among others. I will be focusing on the former- the coke-related drinks. The client is well known to produce numerous popular advertisements on various platforms so; I will subsequently attempt to create an advert that is both attractive to the audience and a successful promotion for the brand. STYLE: The style of the advert will be humourous, promoting the brand in a funny light-hearted fashion. The advert will consist of two men talking to each other in the form of a therapist talking to a patient (who relates everything to coca cola). The advert will be promoting the brand in a way in which the patient will relate many positive words to coca cola (the best, original etc.). The advert will hopefully come across as fun and entertaining, and not in a serious tone, as coca cola are not generally known for this. CLIENT BRIEF AND PROJECT PLANNING

NAME: Daniel Hopkins

CLIENT: I have been commissioned to create a radio advert for the soft drink Coca Cola, promoting several of its existing products as well as a new drink.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the advert is to promote the coca cola brand. It is meant to promote coca cola as being one of the best products on the market in various areas (best, original). This will be done in a light-hearted fashion in order for the company to not appear too arrogant. It will also promote Coca Cola’s newest product: Coke Life.

LEGAL AND ETHICAL ISSUES: A legal issue that might arise from my advert may be from my usage of copyrighted music. However, for the majority of its usage, it will be in the background and be barely audible. I will also try to adhere to the ‘seven second rule’ and limit my usage of it.

MUSIC: For the first part of the advert I do not intend to use any music. I may add a background instrumental to help give the advert more audio depth. However, the speech within the script (conversation) means that any music would almost definitely be peripheral. At the end of the conversation a reference is made to ‘The Karate Kid’- a film which features Joe Esposito’s song ‘The Best’. Once this reference is made and subsequently replied to, I intend to play it in the background as the narrator draws the advert to a close.

Budget: I have not got a budget and will therefore be using resources that I currently have available to me. These include sound recorders, reaper editing software and celtx script creator.
