Hopefully we will have enjoyed nice weather for the Village garage sales and Lions Brat Fry. We wish to extend a huge “Thank You” to all of the

people who patronize us each year. Profits are used to support community projects, such as little league baseball and soccer programs, Secret Santa, and the Dare program at Cleveland Elementary School.

Plans are underway for the 40th annual Dairyland Festival scheduled on Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th. Saturday begins with a car show and craft fair from 10:00-4:00. Music will be provided from 10:00-4:00 by DJ “Scooter Scribble” and from 4:00-7:00 by DJ “Randy Rabe”. Food and refreshments will be available from 10:00-7:00. Sunday begins with an ecumenical church service at 8:30 am. The musical entertainment is “The Carl Laack Band” from 1:00-5:00 pm. A parade is scheduled for 11:30 am. on Sunday. The East Wind Garden Club will be participating with activities from 10:00-3:00 and the Cleveland Boy Scouts will be sponsoring games on Sunday. We regularly receive volunteer help from the people in this community and we greatly appreciate your assistance. If you wish to offer your help this year, please contact Lion Jerry Johnson at (920) 693-8483 or Lion Ed Jesinski at (920) 693-3479. UNLOCKS A NEW DOMAIN NAME WITH ADDITIONAL SECURITYwww.clevelandstate.bank

CLEVELAND STATE BANK . . . .

gotoltc.edu | 1.888.GO TO LTC (920) 686-

We provide FREE estimates for new installations of heating and cooling equipment. No pressure—just the answers you need to make an informed decision.

If you have any questions about this new domain name don’t hesitate to call (920) 693-8256. Also, our emails have changed. If you have a bank staff member in your contact list, you can still use the old address, email us and we will send you the new email. Old emails are valid until July 1, 2019.

This message is written while there is still much fluctuation in the weather. We are thankful some “very nice weather” days where we can get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine. Old man winter was harsh this year and we all look forward to summer. There will be many nice days to come.

This year, watch face book and posters in the store as we celebrate National Days. Many of you are aware there is a special day of the year for just about everything: “National Peanut Lover’s Day” which we celebrated March 1, a day that depicts a career, like “National Secretary’s Day” or “National Go Fishing Day” that’s coming in June. We’re committed to celebrate 2 National Days each month and have savings or giveaways to the people who enter the contest or shop the store on the special day. On some events, you’ll be able to simply enter a contest on face book. All YOU need to do is pay attention and reap the benefits. We hope you have fun with it, we are.

We will be offering fresh produce again this year. We’re starting with asparagus, and will add herbs, vegetables and fruit--all locally grown from area farmers. Honey too, which when grown locally, adds extra health benefits.

Our hot food selection and display is now fully operational J We offer roller grill items, hot deli sandwiches, appetizers and of course Piccadilly Pizza with many toppings to choose from. We have had requests for take and bake pizzas, so watch for that, too. They will be found in the open air cooler. If you want something special, call ahead. A menu of specialty pizzas and all possible toppings are available at the cashier station. Take one home.

We look forward to serving our local community. See you soon.

The .bank domain name means increased security for our clients and for the bank.

The more technologically advanced we become, certainly the more, or distinct ways we need to protect ourselves. The new “dot” bank is one of those ways.

• In order to acquire .bank, Cleveland State Bank underwent a strict verif ication process including a background check and verif ication of bank credentials.

• It is nearly impossible for someone to setup a fake website. • It is nearly impossible to email with a similar name and misdirect clients to a

malicious site. • The enhanced encryption prevents data from being destroyed, manipulated, or

edited through unauthorized channels.

It’s the time of year for severe weather ... Everyone should know the differences between watches and warnings. You should also have a plan. Your family should know what to do and where to go when severe weather happens.

Tornado WATCH means that conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in and close to the watch area. A watch is normally issued for a large area covering numerous counties. The watch is intended to give you time to review your safety rules. The sky may be sunny, but weather changes can take place quite rapidly.

Tornado WARNING means that a developing tornado has been detected by National Weather Service Doppler Radar or has been reported on the ground by reliable sources. A Tornado Warning is typically issued for a portion of counties at a time and usually lasts no more than 45 minutes. If a Tornado Warning is issued for your county, you should seek shelter immediately. If you see a tornado or feel threatened, move to a safe place immediately, as precious seconds can save your life.

Be safe around the campfire and enjoy your summer!

Do you want to make a difference and be part of your community?

Our Firefighters and First Responders need you!

We offer paid training and have 2 drills a month. If you’re thinking you would like to get involved, please contact Tony (920) 905-1138

or show up on a 1st and 3rd Monday for Fire drill or 2nd and 4th Thursday for First Responder drill. Drills start at 7:00pm.

Are your snow piles finally gone? Ready to get down and dirty in the garden? We are too.

First off we’d like to thank all that came and purchased plants from the garden club plant sale. We hope the plants will grow well in their new homes.

The club is anxious to start phase two of the “Beast of a Bed.”

We will be adding a number of shrubs, vines, a mass planting of one variety of perennial, two planters, a couple of obelisks, and we are leaving a large strip open for annuals for extra color this first year of new plantings.

We hope you will enjoy the change.

2019 starts with a change in the board. Our officers this year are Treasurer, Nancy Oehldrich, Secretary, Ellen Van De Loo, Club Reps, Aggie Deehr and Roxy Mueller and President, Lynn Fiedler.

The club has had a traveling photo display of our activities moving about the village this winter/spring. We hope you were able to check it out and maybe give us a “think.”

Once again we invite the public to join our organization. Our dues are $15.00 a year; not so serious. I believe we have educational speakers, we work and learn together and have a couple of socials each year. I think you’d enjoy the group.

If you think you may like to join us, contact Lynn Fiedler at [email protected] or call (920) 693-8553 for more info.

In closing, the philosopher that said, “Work well done never needs doing over…”never weeded a garden.

Until next time,

Happy Gardening!

Lynn Fiedler, Prez, East Wind Garden Club

The spring and summer ball season is upon us so please come join us at Veterans Park for games of baseball and softball for adults and children!

The Wildcats Baseball team weekend schedules are posted at many area businesses and have home games scheduled for:

■ June 9 (Cleveland State Bank Day) ■ June 16 (Little League Day) ■ July 21 (Larry’s Distributing Customer Appreciation Day) ■ July 28 (Cleveland Fire Department Day) ■ August 4 and August 18 (Let’s Make a Deal Day).

A brat fry accompanies all Sunday home games starting at 12:00 noon with game time at 1:00 pm (except July 28, 12:30 pm game start). Also, the Women’s Softball League plays on Wednesday evenings and begins June 5th and the Men’s Over 25 Softball League plays Thursday evenings throughout the summer and began on May 30.

In addition, little league teams have begun play over the last few weeks with games beginning at 6 pm and scheduled most Monday – Thursdays evenings each week. Refer to the athletic club website: https://cacwi.com for schedules of all little league teams, women’s softball and men’s Over 25 softball teams.

Also, many worthy applications were submitted for our scholarships presented annually to area high school seniors. Nine - $1000.00 scholarships were presented to the following student/athletes in May: Rachel Grupe, Alivia Hundt, Devon Lallensack, Meredith Opie, Nathan Roelse, Julia Scharinger, Julia Schetter and Marlee Strysick – Sheboygan North High School and Anthony Burkhard - Home Schooled Student. These scholarships would not have been made possible if it wasn’t for the generous support of local residents and businesses that attend our annual brat fry and raffle each February at the VFW Hall. Good luck to this year’s recipients as they continue their education through college! Furthermore, any students in need of National Honor Society hours, please contact Ron Schisel @ (920) 889-1807 or any athletic club member.

Lastly, our next two monthly meetings will be held Tuesday, June 4th and Tuesday, July 2 at Veterans Park at 7 pm under the shelter area of the Wildcats Field Concession Stand for anyone interested.
