The Solar tubes are used to light a room without using any other form of energy. The tube is reflective and runs from the roof through the ceiling so that the sunlight is directed to your home. The diffusers can have spotlight effect in your room or can spread light in some particular pattern. There are few things that you should follow for cleaning the Tube Diffusers and they are:

You need to make arrangements with ladders for reaching the diffuser so that you do not cause any accident while cleaning the tubes.

You can now reach the diffuser and examine the solar tube that you have. There are different models and you should remove them in different ways. You should know how to remove the diffuser that you have. Some of the diffusers can be pulled out and others need to be twisted. If you are not sure you can check the owner’s manual or you can also contact the manufacturer.

Remove the diffuser and then swish it in a bucket of warm water that has got some soft detergent mixed in. The soapy water will clean the diffuser and you can then pull it out. You must use a soft and dry cloth to wipe it clean. There should not be any soapy water clinging to the diffuser.

You should find out if it is actually clean and then make sure there are no dirt or oil sticking to any impossible corner.

Reattach the diffuser. IF it is a tab model then line the tabs and then press the diffuser into the tab with light pressure. There are twist off models or the threaded models that have different ways to attach back. You will be able to do it now as you have once opened it. Use the manual once again if you are not sure.

There should be a cleaning of the Tube Diffusers in every six months so that it brightens your room properly. If you have time you can also detach and clean it once a month with a soft dry cloth and place it back to its position. You also should not use harsh cleaners or rough cloth for cleaning.
