FM-200 Fire extinguishing systems:

1.  FM-200 system (1) for M.V. Switchgear room:

Room Length = 26 m

Room width = 6.5 m

Room area = 169 m²

Total Room volume = 169 x 5.25 = 887.25 m³

 

For using FM-200 with density of 0.6 kg/m³ based on 7 % concentration, taking 10% as

a safety factor 

 Total Amount of agent for the room = 887.25 x 0.6 x 1.1 = 585.6 kg

For discharging at maximum time of 10 seconds:

Total Agent flow rate = 585.6 / 10 = 58.56 kg/sec

 

cylinders: No of 

Three cylinders, filled with 200 kg agent each.

 

For DC Battery Room:

  Room Length = 4 m

Room width = 2.5 m

Room area = 10 m²

Room volume = 10 x 5.25 = 52.5 m³

Amount of agent for DC Battery Room = 52.5 x 0.6 x 1.1 = 34.65 kg

For discharging at maximum time of 10 seconds:

Agent flow rate for DC Battery room = 34.65 / 10 = 3.46556 kg/sec

 

 No of nozzles:

one nozzle with 25mm diameter.

:For M.V. Switchgear room

 

Room Length = 26 m

Room width = 6.5 m

Room area = 159 m²

Room volume = 159 x 5.25 = 834.75 m³

Amount of agent for M.V Switchgear Room = 834.75 x 0.6 x 1.1 = 551 kg

For discharging at maximum time of 10 seconds:Agent flow rate for the room = 551 / 10 = 55.1 kg/sec

Room area = 260 m²

Room volume = 260 x 5.25 = 1365 m³

 

For using FM-200 with density of 0.6 kg/m³ based on 7 % concentration, taking 10% as

a safety factor 

 

Amount of agent for the room = 1365 x 0.6 x 1.1 = 900 kg

 

For discharging at maximum time of 10 seconds:

Agent flow rate for the room = 900 / 10 = 90 kg/sec

 No of nozzles:

Room area = 364 m²

Room volume = 364 x 5.25 = 1911 m³

 

For using FM-200 with density of 0.6 kg/m³ based on 7 % concentration, taking 10% as

a safety factor 

 

Amount of agent for the room = 1911 x 0.6 x 1.1 = 1261 kg

 

For discharging at maximum time of 10 seconds:

Agent flow rate for the room = 1261 / 10 = 126.1 kg/sec

Four cylinders, filled with 300 kg agent each

 No of nozzles:

Ten nozzles with 50mm diameter each.

Room width = 3 m

Room area = 12 m²

Room volume = 12 x 5.55 = 66.6 m³

 

For using FM-200 with density of 0.6 kg/m³ based on 7 % concentration, taking 10% as

a safety factor 

 

Amount of agent for the room = 66.6 x 0.6 x 1.1 = 43.96 kg

 

For discharging at maximum time of 10 seconds:Agent flow rate for the room = 43.96 / 10 = 4.4 kg/sec
