Opening Discussion

Imagine yourself sitting on your couch, one lazy morning knowing that your

friend had bought you a lottery ticket recently. Then you receive a phonecall from a lady saying that you had won the lotto worth 69,000,000pesos. You can’t believe what she said. “To receive your award, meet mein our headquarters in Quezon Avenue.” Would you believe her? Would you go to her?

What if someone told you that the next Savior was coming next year? Would you believe THEM?This scenario has happened before, more than 2000 years ago.



Backgroundprophecy means “a prediction of the

future, made under divine inspiration” mostly found in the Book of Isaiah

passages resemble Christ’s life(Ex:Psalm 16: 10, 11)Jesus used this to prove that He is theMessiah



The Call of the Authors of the

Messianic Prophecies

written by many authors of the Old

Testamentmostly by Isaiah who was called in theTemple of Jerusalem

the authors were insipired by the HolySpirit to write about the Messiah



Prophetic Style

some use symbolisms in poetry, writing,stories, etc.some are hard to understand for peoplewho are not familiar with propheticlanguage



Message of the Messianic Prophecies

to be aware of the Anointed One in their future who would “deliver” and “save” allthe Jewish people to heaventhe rest would need to know the Messiah“through the Jews”

ApplicationWe must be ready spiritually for thesecond coming of Christ (Isaiah 66:22-24)through good deeds (Ex: loving

yourself and others, making friends withfoes)

We should spread the Word of God toother people especially to those whodon’t know Him

weary, walk and not grow faint.”- Isaiah 40:31What is the message of God in this passage?What does He promise for those who trust Him?

Recall the times when you needed the help of God. How did he give you the strength to face your obstacle during that time when youneeded His help? Did it end the way you wanted it to be?



Closing Prayer Yahweh,As we end this discussion, may we find

that we are not alone as we endureproblems in our lives. Especially during the exam week, may we feel secured thatwe are always in the striking distance of

your grace and Your love for us will alwaysbe eternal. This we ask, through our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
