• Pre-Raphaelites encouraged studying nature in order to improve the artist’s ability to represent it expressively.
• Think of how different facial expressions communicate different emotions.
• Decide on an emotion you’d like to portray, and sketch out how you plan to communicate this emotion via sculpture.
