LEAD THE WAY
Students should arrive to class on time and have all their material with
them. Students will not be permitted to go to
their lockers to retrieve materials
You should quietly enter the classroom and find your assigned seat. Many teachers will ask that you have your
pencils sharpened before class. You should also write down your assignments in your agenda if they are posted.
Then get started on the bell work or warm up.
Be an active learner…. What does that mean?
Students are asked to develop ideas, to practice solving problems, and to talk to and listen to their peers.

MANAGE YOURSELF
When working with supplies, make sure to use them wisely. Whether the supplies below to you or to your teacher, make sure they get put away at the
end of the class period. Supplies should always be put back in their proper place and
any scrap paper should be thrown away.
Have all assignments on due dates. Most of the time homework assignments will be due the next day unless your teacher tells you otherwise. As for project make sure to know due dates and have them ready to turn in on time.
All students should have an agenda to keep track of their assignments. It is your responsibility to write down all of your homework assignments, test, quizzes and projects.A good strategy would be to write down your homework
assignments as soon as you enter the room, if they’re posted.
When it’s time to be dismissed from class, make sure to keep track of all of your belongings. Check the area around your desk and make sure you have everything before you leave the classroom. Also, make sure to push in your chair after you’re dismissed.

SHOW RESPECT
At Ligon, students are expected to respond appropriately to all adults’ requests. From the principal Ms. Dula to
custodian Mr. Williams to the lunch ladies in the cafeteria you are expected to treat all adults with respect.
LISTEN FOR INSTRUCTIONSRespect others and their property. If you borrow something, give it back. If you drop something that
belongs to someone else, pick it up. If you bump into someone, say sorry. Think about the way you would like
to be treated.

LEAD THE WAY
Each hallway has a specific traffic pattern. As you travel through the building, make sure to follow the traffic
pattern for that hallway
To help the flow of traffic, remember to
walk on the right hand side of the hallway. This will allow traffic to move
quickly.LISTEN FOR INSTRUCTIONS

Respect the items, flyers and mounted displays in the hallways. They are
to be looked at not touched. If some is on the ground, pick it up
and throw it away.

MANAGE YOURSELF
Keep your hands and feet to yourself. Save horse playing, play fighting and running for home. These actions will
result in a referral and a consequence.
Monitor your volume when talking in the hallway. You should
always use your inside voice. Save scream and
yelling for outside. When students holler in the hallways, teachers tend to think there is a
problem.
Use your locker wisely. 6th grade locker times are as followed: Before homeroom, before 1st period,
before 3rd period and before 5th period.

SHOW RESPECT
Keep moving in the hallway at all times. Hang out in the hallway or waiting at someone’s locker back up the traffic in the hallway. Be mindful of others who need to get to electives that are far away. They need all the given time
and if you’re hanging out, you’ll prevent them from getting to class on time.
Use appropriate and positive language at all times. Even if you’re joking around with a friend, be careful of you word. What you may think is funny, may really hurt
someone’s feelings. If you can’t be kind be quiet
