Materials: Organic Merino 50g/101m

1 ball MarleSmall quantity of Merino Brown Tweed for edging.

Hooks: Sizes 3mm, 3.5mm, 4mm.Tapestry needle

Working in clusters of 2tr, forming a "V", into which the next cluster is

worked for the next row.

Begin at crown of hat, ch3 join into a circle, into circle 1dc-1ch (as1tr) 9tr into ring, sl st into top of 1st tr to close circle (this forms the

basis of closing off each row). Total 10 tr.

Into space between 2tr, 1dc-1ch-1tr, skip one tr, into next spacebetween 2tr, work 2tr.

This forms the basis of the beginning of each new row.

To increase gradually, work 3tr into each 2tr clusters into the nextrow, and 6th row.

Into each 3tr clusters, work 2tr between 1st tr and 2nd tr and 2 trbetween 2nd and 3rd tr.

Work 2tr into each 2tr clusters all around, beginning and ending asindicated above.

Swap hook to a larger size if wanting to make the beanie for an adult.Work 14 more rows, or more if you want to make it longer and have a

rollover.

Optional:End Marle, and with a smaller hook make a row of contrasting shade of

dc, to form an edge to your beanie, working on the wrong side,

just in case you end up rolling it over, as we often do.

Note that this is so neat that when worn inside out, no one wouldknow the difference, unless they are an expert Beanieologist.
