This pottery course aims to introduce the basics of dealing with clay like hand building (including pinching, coiling and slab techniques) and throwing on the wheel (including centering the clay and shaping the pots). Along with trimming and glazing, additional techniques such as underglaze, sgraffito, and wax resist are also covered. Once the basics are mastered, participants can bring along an idea and the tutor will help them create it.

Drawing & Painting

This course consists of two main components, pencil drawing, and oil painting technique. Pencil drawing provides a more direct and intimate link to an artist’s creative process than painting. The ability to draw is the basis of all art; no one can paint or create without a good knowledge of pencil drawing. Jivan will show you how to draw in pencil, from a simple line to portraits and figure studies. This course is suitable for all abilities, both beginners and the more experienced artists and designers who wish to improve their drawing skills. Once you understand how to draw, you are ready to move on to painting. An accomplished oil painter, Jivan will guide you step by step, showing you a variety of techniques (composition, textures, colour-mixing) to develop your painting ability and enable you to express your ideas to create beautiful works of art.

Drawing from life or ‘observation’ drawing involves seeing more precisely and more directly in order to translate a 3D environment onto the surface of our paper. This drawing course is an exploration of traditional and contemporary drawing practices involving drawing from life and is for students of all levels. The techniques of cutting tiles, merging colours, and placing them together is explored. The end result forms a rhythmic whole; a mosaic. Fashion Design

Delivered by a fully qualified and experienced dress designer, this course will provide a comprehensive introduction to Fashion Design, Pattern Cutting & Garment Construction. Students will learn how to unlock their creativity with mood boards, learn how to design and sketch a range of clothes, finally constructing a pattern and stitching a garment. Sewing techniques by hand and machine, embellishments and the role of a fashion designer in industry will be studied. Calligraphy is one of the primary forms of art for Islamic visual expression. This course will introduce you to the main forms of Arabic calligraphy - basic lettering and numerals. Enabling you to incorporate this into your own artworks. It also introduces you to the art of Islamic borders including the use of watercolours to enhance your paintings. Source material will be provided and no previous experience is required.

This course covers the technique of off loom weaving including tapestry. Weaving involves the creative techniques of interlacing the warp and weft to make woven designs and patterns. SHOW STOPPERSShow Stoppers is an introductory class that offers students to try their hand at a combination of Drama, Acting, Musical Theatre and script writing in a fun and supportive environment. It allows children to gauge which area they are most interested in so they can see which discipline they would like to pursue.

ACTING PROGRAMMEOur Acting Program (7-14 years old) offers classes which are designed to prepare a child for a stage performance in our annual acting “The Works” Show. It focuses extensively on acting skills including voice, stance, gesture, movement, facial expression and motivation through improvisation and characterisation. The programs also involve devising and working from scripts to create innovative pieces. Students in the Acting program have the option to sit for Trinity College examinations.

MUSICAL THEATRE PROGRAMMEOur Musical Theatre program for 3-6 year olds are fun and lively intro-ductory classes to the world of Musical theatre. Children will learn about putting music and movement together as well as acting through song and dance. They will discover their abilities through exploring well-known songs and basic choreography and is perfect for children who love to sing and dance.

Our programs for older children (7-16 years) involves the students learning to sing, dance and act through song and dance. The students collaborate to re-think and re-imagine existing material fashioning it into something entirely different. The programs focus on skill work such as vocalisation, movement, characterisation, motivation and choreography through rou-tines and scene work. FaTE - FACTORY THEATRE ENSEMBLE YOUTH THEATREThis program was created to introduce the concept of a community youth theatre with special emphasis on providing support & skill development to students who are studying drama formally at school and those with an in-terest in the theatre as an activity. The program allows students to develop theatrical expression, strengthen their self-awareness, explore and build on their skills as well as work towards two powerful performances a year.

KTW! also offer school holiday workshops where our performers get to be active and creative all at once as they learn to devise, act, communicate and perform. Our week long workshops assist students in the creation of a workshop stype show to perform to parents and friends on the final day. Workshops usually take place during the midterm, Winter, Springs and Summer breaks.

DRAMA SCENE has been in operation since 2008 and is the largest skill based performing arts school in the Middle East offering group tuition to 3-18 years across disciplines such as Verse & Prose, Acting, Musical Theatre, Public Speaking and Group Devising Theatre. Watercolour: The chief characteristic of watercolour is its transparency and in ‘pure’ watercolour painting this is exploited to the full. Unlike the painter in oils who can lay lighter paint over dark tones, the water colourist must work through from the lightest tones to the darkest. It is the transparent pigment, which gives pictures in watercolour the brilliance and sparkle which sets them apart from other styles of painting. Under the guidance of a professionally qualified art tutor, students will learn various basic watercolour painting techniques, an understanding of the newly introduced medium and how it’s different from different mediums, light and dark tones to perspective, wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques and introduction to new mediums within watercolour like gauche. Event Planning & Party DécorThis is an introductory intensive beginner’s course which covers the fundamentals in planning different types of events and selecting the right kind of venue, furniture layout, decoration and catering. The course is suitable for anyone who wishes to more expertly organise their own private parties or for those who are considering a new career in this field. Students must work on a project whereby they select an event to plan and decorate. They must demonstrate a full understanding of event planning and party décor with a project consisting of: Planning checklist & timeline; Scaled furniture layout of venue; Mood Board; Budget breakdown & vendor list. Students must also sit an end of course test. Creating Successful Mood Boards using PowerPointLooking to learn Microsoft PowerPoint to create interesting interior mood boards? This workshop for beginners/refreshers provides you with the fundamental skills you need for one of the interior design industry’s most useful presentation programs. In a hands on workshop, students will learn the basic capabilities of the program including setting up mood board layouts, saving, importing and sizing jpeg images, creating text and printing. A working knowledge of PowerPoint is a prerequisite for some of the Full Circle Design FZLLC courses such as Residential Interior Design level 3 and Commercial Interior Design levels 1 & 2.

Students:This workshop is open to students from ages 8 to 16. Participants will learn to everything from building vocabulary, to grammar and punctuation, to learning how to best express themselves. Students will benefit from learning writing techniques to pen effective descriptions and learn to write exceptionally well in order improve their school work. Participants will be sure to receive regular feedback on their writing as they progress through the course.
