A is 90% - 100%B is 80% - 89%C is 70% - 79%D is 60% - 69% F is 59% and below
HONOR ROLL
A Honor Roll- All A’s
A/B Honor Roll- An average of 3.0 or
higher GPA
We have a celebration at the end of each quarter to honor this accomplishment
Grade Recovery
A way for students to be re-assessed on their learning in order to demonstrate mastery of the content
Grade recovery can be accomplished by:
Giving students the opportunity to retest/re-assess with a new test that covers the same content
AND/OR
Giving students the opportunity to complete test corrections
Late Work (not due to illness or extenuating circumstances)
Late work is defined as any work that was not turned in during the class period on the day it was due. Late work can be submitted up to two weeks after the assignment due date.
Assignments submitted late will receive an 11% deduction, leaving students with the maximum potential grade of 89%.
Any work not submitted within two weeks of the original due date will remain a zero with no further opportunity to regain credit.
Late Work (not due to illness or extenuating circumstances)
For absences of one to three days, the student will have one day for each day absent.
For absences exceeding three days, the student may have two days for each absence to make up work.
Please remember that educational absences MUST be approved BEFORE leaving.
There is no academic penalty for make-up work completed in the time frame stated in the grading policy (above).

ARRIVAL
Doors open at 7:45 am
If students are eating breakfast, they will go right to the cafeteria.
Students will then proceed to their homerooms.
1st core bell rings at 8:15
DISMISSAL
3:00 pm
All 6th graders will return to their 4th core at the end of the day for dismissal.
Buses will be broadcast on the monitors.
After School Activities
*Details on the back of parent/student itinerary.
6th graders cannot play sports. They do have the option of being managers.
Clubs are available to 6th graders. Please visit the media center to see what clubs we have to offer. These will not start until the 3-4th week of school, so please encourage students to look for information being shared.
*We will have 2 after school activity buses.
FIELD TRIPWe will take a field trip as a 6th grade team on April 21st.
This year we will travel to the Outer Banks. The total price will be around $100. More information as well as payment options will come home the first month of school.
It is important to sign up to be a volunteer. You can do this today in the media center (yes, you need to do it every year).
