Freshman Academy StructureAcademy Building• Freshmen have their own lunch room, Admin Office, Counseling

Office, Resource Rooms, Media Center…we pretty much have it all!

• Students will be in Academy building 4 or 5 classes, out for PE, Foreign Language, CTE, ROTC, Fine Arts, etc.

• Students have 46 minute lunch divided into lunch and Seminar. Seminar is for credit and helps transition students to PA and high school, supported by teacher and AMP students

Day to Day Procedures**Helpful tool for parents…Student Planner (also online) and Freshman Parent Survival Guide (pink, pick up on way out)

Health Office Information•Over-the-Counter Medications: parents must fill out OTC permission form. Was part of summer packet. Available on Health Services page on website. Hard copies are available after the presentation.

•Prescribed medication taken at school: a doctor’s note must be sent indicating this requirement. Please contact the Health Office @ 437-5200 x 2118 for specific instructions.

•Up-to-Date Vaccination Records: must be turned in to attend NH schools. There will be an exclusion date at some point determined by the State of NH.

Communication and Contact•Communication is crucial to your child’s success.

•Depending upon your concerns, the path of communication will be different.

•Look on page 8 in Student Planner.

•Emergency Alert (inclement weather, emergency news) will be sent through email, website, and automated message alert – make sure your info is correct! You can check/update this through the PA website (under “Families” section, select “Alert System”)

• NH mandated for all courses, reflect deep understandings and applications, and must be passed to earn course credit.

• Half-Year Courses• Typically Contain 3-4 Competencies
