    The Lead Production Operator is responsible for providing guidance, support and mentoring to the field operations staff to ensure the safe and effective operation of wells and facilities in their area of responsibility.Below is a list of key accountabilities:Strategic Leadership: Use sound judgment when prioritizing resources (time, staff,

    infrastructure) between capital projects and base production. Continuously seek out information on new ideas and advancements in

    the industry by building external relationships and communicating with peer companies, 3rd party vendors and suppliers.

    Identify and focus on high level initiatives that will bring the most value to Gear Energy.

    Business Leadership: Assist Area Foreman in the preparation and monitoring of district

    operating and maintenance budget. Act as a focal point for communication between the Area Foreman and

    the Field Operators. Communicate information that is relevant throughout the teams (including upwards).

    Review and approve invoices for materials, equipment and services. Provide vacation coverage for Foreman. In collaboration with the Area Foreman, understand and educate

    operations staff on the district's key controllable cost drivers and netbacks.

    Technical leadership: Maximize cost-effective production while exemplifying excellence in the

    areas of health, safety and the environment Partner with the Operators and Foreman to monitor and guide regular

    preventative maintenance of all equipment (facilities, pipelines, wellheads, pumpjacks, piping/pressure vessels, rotating equipment)

    Assist the Area Foreman to guide and educate team members on every opportunity to maximize volumes (i.e. pigging, swabbing, chemical schedules...)

    Provide guidance to operations staff to ensure accurate test measurement of gas, condensate/oil and water production

    Work with Area Foreman and PAs to ensure we are meeting our EPAP requirements

    In collaboration with Technical Operations and Optimization staff, coordinate facility/well optimization programs

    Monitor operating parameters and production volumes to ensure daily, month-end and annual production reporting is accurate and consistent

    Schedule and supervise minor well interventions with contract services Perform regular site inspections Assist and guide operations staff with well start-up after workover or

    stimulation initiatives Be available to provide short-term coverage for unplanned operator

    absence Assist the Foreman in the execution of turnarounds in the area of

    responsibility Assist Area Foreman with all annual ABSA requirements Assist Area Foreman with all incoming regulatory requirements from

    the federal and provincial governmentsPeople and cultural leadership skills also required.
