Click on: “High school student” Follow the instructions Raise your hand if you have any questions.

1. Get Ready for Postsecondary or work

a. Click on: Take assessments

2. Click on: “Interest Profiler”, then answer all the questions.

3. After completing the survey, your top interest will show with career clusters, education level requires; and salary

4. Based the way you answered the questions, now you have a list of careers that you can explore.

5. You can read about the careers and help you decide which one fit you best.

6. At home you can research colleges that offer the specific career (s) that you are looking for.

How important is it to earn credits?

It is ESSENTIAL to success! Credits determine what grade you are in

and where you will be placed for the next year.

Credits determine whether or not you may progress to the next level of classes (11 credits are needed to be promoted to 11th grade.

Credits determine if you may take dual enrollment classes at LSCC.

Credits determine whether or not you will graduate.

How important is my GPA?

You must have at least a 2.0 unweighted cumulative GPA to graduate.

Every class you take counts – including elective credits.

Every D (1 point) or F (0 points) reduces your GPA and hurts your chance for a successful graduation.

Honors and AP classes count more than regular!

You need 3.0 unweighted to Dual Enroll at LSSC.

You need 2.0 GPA to Dual Enroll at Lake Tech College.

Many scholarships require a 2.7 GPA or higher

You apply December 1st of your seniors.

Your 9th-10th grades will average to the GPA to earn the scholarships

You can start earning your Volunteer hours right now. Don’t wait for your senior year.

The scholarships are reviewed every year by the state, so things can be changed.

It is your responsibility to keep up it because of the changes.
