REFUND POLICYRefunds/credits for recreation programs will be processed upon request in accordance with the following policy:

• Full refunds/credits will be issued for classes cancelled by the Parks Board andRecreation Commission.

• Full refunds/credits will be granted to individuals if it is prior to the start of class/activity, minus service fee for refunds.• A $25.00 service fee will be charged on all refund applications except those cancelled or closed by the Commission.

• Refunds submitted after class has started will only be issued for medical reasons or if you have moved. A physician’s verification

Town of Clarkstown Swimming Facility Rules and Regulations

Admission only on presentation of official I.D. Card and payment of designated fee. Each person must display his/her own pass for inspection. Illegally used passes WILL be confiscated. Re-entry to pool will be deter-mined by hand stamp.

The number of persons permitted in pool area is regulated by the Health Department. The capacity of each facility is posted and admission will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Patrons must park according to atten-dant’s instructions. Parking will be permitted on park grounds to limit of existing parking facilities.

Guest must enter with member.

Violence or rough play towards staff or other participants will not be tolerated.

Name-calling, racial insults, negative or verbal insults, abusive language, foul language, or swearing will not be tolerated.

Spitting or tobacco products, or smoking are not tolerated in the pool area.

Malicious destruction or stealing of property or other personal property will not be tolerated. (Parents/caregivers will be responsible for replacing any property that their child(ren) may destroy and/or steal).

No weapons and/or firearms are permitted.

No glass containers in pool area.

No drugs in parks.

Proper swimming attire is required at all times. Cut-off or rolled-up pants not permitted for swimming.

The Commission reserves the right to close the grounds for cause (i.e. inclement weather, utility failure, etc.), with no refund or rain checks to persons paying daily admission or guest admission. In the event of facility closure, a hand stamp will admit attendees to an alternate facility.

Children under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult who will assume full responsibility for the child’s safety.

Wading areas are restricted to children 7 years old and under, and their parents. Children under 6 must be accompanied to bathhouses by an adult.

Swimming and diving permitted in designated areas only.

Health Department rules for sanitation and safety must be observed by every patron. Infants in diaper/pull-ups not permitted in pools. Approved swim diapers will be permitted in kiddie pools only, i.e. Congers Wading Pool, or the Germonds Wading Pool. Approved swim diapers are permis-sible at Lake Nanuet in the zero depth entrance area only.

Persons with physical disorders such as skin lesions, inflamed eyes, nose, mouth, or ear discharges, or bandages, may not swim.

All recreation, park, and swimming staff are required to strictly enforce the regulations. These rules and hours of operation will be amended or sup-plemented as necessary for the safety and welfare of patrons. Violators are subject to suspension of privileges. Any questions regarding these rules and regulations or use of the facility should be directed to the head life-guard at each location.

Spitting or other discharges into pools is prohibited. Anyone who has had diarrhea within the past two weeks should stay out of the water.

Alcoholic beverages prohibited at all Town of Clarkstown facilities.

Pets are not permitted in any park.

Sun and eye glasses are permissible in the water. No glass containers of any kind are permitted in pool, on decks, or in locker areas. The following are not permitted in swimming pool areas: ball playing, pushing, running, dunking or boisterous conduct, toys, play devices, fins, masks, snorkels or any flotation device except Coast Guard approved. Approved competi-tive swim goggles are permissible. Corrective lenses may be attached to approved swim goggles at a very reasonable cost.

Chairs, strollers, blankets, etc. must be kept at least 15 ft. from water’s edge.

Lap lanes are for long distance continuous swimming only.

Radios are permitted, but the volume should be turned down so it does not interfere with other residents. Blasting of radios is prohibited in the pool area.

No checks will be accepted at the pools. Cash and Credit Cards (Visa/Mastercard) are accepted.

Failure to follow these rules and regulations could result in disciplinary action, including removal from the pool and/or suspension or cancellation of I.D. Card.

Disciplinary Procedures for failure to obey Rules and Regulations:

Patron will receive one verbal warning for any violation of any of the above rules and regulations, and if it continues, they will be asked to leave the facility for that day.

If any violation of any of the above rules and regulations has not improved within a reasonable time, he/she will be suspended for 2 days or longer, depending on the nature of the offense and at the discretion of the Aquatic Director.

If there is one more offense, their pool pass will be revoked.

Any weapons and/or firearms brought to the pools or parks are cause for immediate dismissal from the pool and park.

All participants in the pool are expected to behave in such a manner as not to disturb others using the pool. Please adhere to the following rules and regulations in and around the pool:

BOATING INFORMATIONPrivate boating permits are available to residents of Clarkstown for use of privately owned nonpowered boats (electric motor allowed) on Congers Lake. Applications for permits are available at the Recreation & Parks Office, Zukor Park-Administration Building, 31 Zukor Road, New City, Monday through Friday, from 9:30am to 4:00pm and at the Congers Community Center during boat inspection times, starting April 9th. Your boat must be inspected at Congers Lake Memorial Park before the permit can be validated. The craft must be a car top mount type.
