From the Principal’s Desk Dear Parents and Community Members Last week we celebrated Public Education as part of Education Week. The week started with students participating in the Leader’s Workshop and Lunch- eon in Moulamein on Monday 1st August. Students spent time working through activities with students from other schools followed by a sit down lunch and award ceremony. The day was an opportunity for our school leaders to reflect on their own strengths and values and build friendships with student leaders from other schools in our region. Congratulations to Liam Butler, Jack Jones, Mitchell Comitti and Casey Harris who attended as our leaders. Jack and Liam also received awards from Mr Troy Mott, Director of Education, Deniliquin Network for being keen and conscientious students who strive to achieve their best. They also contributing to the Clare School commu- nity in a reliable and responsible manner and are great role models to other students. At the end of last week, we said goodbye to Casey Harris who returned to Corowa South Public School after spending the last six weeks with us. Casey was a welcome addition to our school community, and through out his stay it was great to see him grow in confidence and become an active member of our class. As a school we would like to wish Casey all the best for his future studies. Congratulations is also goes to Larah Butler who was named Junior Girl Cham- pion at the District Athletics Carnival held at Tooleybuc on the 29th of July. Following her successes at the district carnival Larah will now travel to Albury where she will compete in the Riverina Athletics Carnival on the 2nd of Sep- tember. I am currently seeking expressions of interest from community members who would be interested in enrolling their children into a preschool type program. If you or anyone that you know, would be interested in participating in this program could you please register your interest to me through the school. Check Out What We Are Learning

This term our Year 4, 5, 6 students have been exploring humour in poetry and the different techniques that po-ets use to achieve this. Students were tasked with creating a poem along the lines of the famous “Ning, Nang, Nong” poem and this is what they came up with.
