Summer Reading Challenge: Summer Challenge reading Bingo Cards need to be returned by
September 13th to be eligible for prizes sponsored by Clandonald Fire Dept.
Library: Grades 1-3 and grades 4-6 will each have a one hour library class each week during which we
will practice various library skills, enjoy a novel together, and students will be able to check out books &
movies. Library materials are due within two weeks, but can be renewed if necessary. There will be a
charge at the end of the year for any lost or badly damaged items. This year we also have activitiy back-packs which the students will be able to check out. Please remember to include all contents in the back-
pack when bringing back to the library.
Healthy & Active School: Clandonald School strives to be a leader in healthy living. With Mrs.
Dutchak as our Health Champion and Jodi Simmonds as our VIBE coach, students and staff are educated
on making good food choices, including activity in each day, and maintaining good mental health. Our
school is a pop-free environment; students are encouraged to stay hydrated with water and milk is availa-
ble in the lunchroom each day. For some of our students the day begins quite early due to bussing. The
breakfast program continues to be available each morning before class to all children at no cost. Most stu-
dents bring a bag lunch daily, but there are some frozen meals in the lunchroom available to purchase and
a hot lunch program is organized by PAC. Pre-order forms go home once a month and hot meals are
usually served one day each week.
Cross-Country Running: Mrs. Jackson will be training and taking interested students in grades 4-6
to two cross-country meets..
Social Networking: Follow ClandonaldSkool on Twitter, join Clandonald Parent Council
group on Facebook, and check out our website at http://clandonald.btps.ca.
Parent Advisory Council: PAC is an excellent way to have a voice in decisions regarding our
school & our students, get to know the staff and other families, and to stay informed with what is happen-
ing in our school, the division, and the province. The first meeting will held on October 2 at 7:00 p.m. in
the school lunchroom. Please plan to attend as we begin a new year at Clandonald School.

of Lloydminster offer parent & pre-schooler programs at our school.
