  • O B I T U A R Y

    Mr. Elmer J. Witcher passed Saturday morning, October 14, 1967 at the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was a native of Athens, Georgia and had lived in Augusta since 1947. He was the son of the late Mrs. Georgia Barnett Witcher and A. J. Witcher.

    He was an employee with the Post Ordinance at Fort Gordon. He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was a member of the Yorkrite Masons Lodge No. 304.

    He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted wife, Mrs. Bertha L. Witcher; two brothers, Mr. Eddie Witcher, Ft. Pierce, Fla., Mr. Henry D. Witcher, Athens, Georgia; five sisters, Mrs. Janice Mae Jackson and Mrs. Francis Patton, both of Chattanooga, Term., Mrs. Carrie B. Collins, Comer, Georgia, Miss Hattie B. Witcher and Mrs. Jessie Greene of Athens, Georgia; one aunt, one God-child, Master Michael Jenkins, and other relatives and friends.
