In the Past

•God’s people recognized their pilgrimage

•They knew of their names being recorded

in heaven as do we! Ex. 32:32; Ps. 69:28;

Dan. 12:1; Heb. 12:23; Rev. 3:5; 21:27

•They saw their life here as temporary

looking to the city or country of heaven!

Our Citizenship & Home!

•Jesus taught about the nature of His

kingdom… John 18:36; cf. 6:15

•It is not of (does not belong to) this world!

•Christ’s kingdom is spiritual & eternal, not

like this world! 1 Jn. 2:15-17

•Confronts spiritual forces with spiritual

weapons. Mt. 12:28; Acts 26:18; Eph.

6:12; 2 Cor. 10:4-5

•Therefore we are soldiers of Christ!

2 Timothy 2:3; 1 Timothy 6:12

Our Citizenship & Home!

•Jesus is preparing a place for us in

heaven! John 14:2-3; 23-24

•He is from there. John 3:31; 8:23

•It is where our hope lies. Col. 1:5

•It is where our prayers go…

•We are part of His kingdom now!

•We worship God and serve Him as a

Set Your Mind On Things Above!

•Should be laying up treasures in heaven…

•Our life (behavior) is to only befit the gospel

•Thus, we will be mindful of the things

Are You Ready For Jesus’ Return?

•You can make yourself ready today by

obeying the gospel of Christ!
