This session looks at ways in which stations can be enlivened by active involvement of local communities, involving business, arts and community groups.

Chaired by Prof. Paul Salveson, University of Huddersfield and board member of ACoRP and Transport Focus

Learn how to educate and inspire the next generation of rail passengers. Join us to discuss engaging children in the classroom, at the station and on the train.

Chaired by Community Rail Lancashire and Aachen City Council

From community evenings to on-street surveys, it’s important to involve local people in plans for their station. Come along for new ideas and to share your own.

Chaired by Aachener Verkehrsverbund, Aachen City Council, Parkstad Limburg and Lancashire County Council

This workshop will explore a range of different community events at stations, including what has worked well and what hasn’t, top tips and good ideas.

Chaired by the Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership and Conseil régional des Pays de la Loire

Together we’ll discuss how to promote your organisation and events online, from using Facebook and Twitter to making the most of Google Analytics.

Chaired by the Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership

At the end of the sessions, all groups will re-take their seats in the main room. The chair of each group will then give two minutes’ feedback about their session.
