Citizens Bank - The “Call It Home” InitiativeIntroduction
The “Call It Home” InitiativeRenowned for its work with local and national corporations and nonprofit organizations, Media Genesis teamed up with Citizens Bank and the Detroit Works Project to brand, design, and build the website for “Call It Home,” an urban renewal initiative that offers grants of up to $10,000 for exterior home improvements in the city of Detroit.
Media Genesis took a leadership role every step of the way, from initial branding to a clean, user-friendly website that incorporates the well-established brand identity of Citizens Bank. For the press conference, Media Genesis also designed much of the featured map signage.
Company OverviewMedia Genesis is a leading Internet services firm based in Troy, Michigan. Media Genesis serves more than 300 companies and nonprofit organizations. An in-house team provides a wide range of services including web design, search engine optimization, social networking and design and development of e-learning systems, mobile applications, intranets and content management systems.
As part of a $1.6 million grant program, Citizens Bank, along with Mayor Dave Bing and the Detroit Works Project, launched the “Call It Home” initiative. Media Genesis was called upon to brand, design, and build the website for the initiative and create some of the signage that was featured at the August 2011 press conference.

Citizens Bank - The “Call It Home” InitiativeWebsite Design
The “Call It Home” initiative needed a clean, illustrative website design to not only promote user-friendliness but also give an image of hope to the city of Detroit. The inspiration behind the website’s banner came from the film “The Wizard of Oz” and the imaginative works of Walt Disney. The idea was to make the GM building look like a shining castle in the middle of a bright, clean, and hopeful city. It perfectly reflects the initiative’s core purpose: to beautify Detroit.

As collaborators with Citizens Bank and the Detroit Works Project, Media Genesis also designed maps and signage for the press conference in Detroit with Mayor Bing. These tools promoted the project as harmonious with the identities of Citizens Bank and the Detroit Works Project and allowed viewers to immediately recognize the neighborhoods that would be highlighted. Media Genesis’ designs served as essential tools for the event.

97 percent of the value on a home purchase or refinance loan with

the city of Detroit and Wayne County. The citizens of Detroit and
