Citizen's Charter WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF THE DRUGS CONTROL DEPARTMENT? That Drugs Control Department regulates manufacture and sale of drugs, excluding the Ayurvedic and Unani medicines. The Department also enforces the provisions of Drugs (Price Control) Order 1995 and Drugs & Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act 1954. For this purpose, the department grants licenses to sellers and manufacturers of drugs including homoeopathic medicines. WHERE ARE THE FORMS FOR THE LICENCE(S) AVAILABLE? Application for grant of licenses can be made on typed paper in prescribed format. However, for convenience of public, the pre-printed forms are also available in the department at a cost of Rs. 1/- per form. Applicaton Forms can also be download from website of the department. The Department also issues a check list of documents (free of cost) to be submitted along with application forms for licenses. The booklet giving details about the different application forms, fees and other documents to be submitted along with the application for llicenses and entitled “Guidelines for obtaining Licenses Under Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules” is also available at the mail receipt counter, and its price is Rs. 10/-. WHERE ARE FEES TO BE DEPOSITED? Fee(s) for license(s) is deposited in the State Bank of India, Phase_II, Mayur Vihar, Delhi through Treasury Challan(GAR-6). Before depositing the fee, the treasury challans are required to be submitted to the office for making an entry in the office records and also for verification of Head of Account in which fee is to be deposited. Fee(s) for Grant and renewal of Licences for chemist shops can be deposited only on the counter of Jeevan Center Delhi at DHS Building F-17, Karkardooma, Delhi - 32. WHERE ARE THE APPLICATIONS TO BE DEPOSITED? Prescribed application forms, treasury challan receipt for licence fee along with documents as per checklist are required to be submitted to the office at the main Receipt Counter and Jeevan Center Delhi at DHS Building F-17, Karkardooma, Delhi - 32(Only Grant and renewal of Licences for chemist shops). WHERE CAN YOU GET MORE INFORMATION? A Duty Officer is available in the office during office hours. Information regarding grant of licences and other general information can be obtained from him.  WHERE CAN YOU MAKE COMPLAINT?

Public can make complaint about spurious drugs, sale of habit forming drugs or about any other contravention of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act and Rules and also about over-charging by the chemists in case of sales of drugs to the Duty Officer, Drugs Control Department, F-17, Karkardooma, Shahdara, Delhi-32 in writing or in person or on telephone No. 22393705 during office hours. Any urgent information after office hours can be given to Divisional In charges at their residential telephones: 011- 25193318.

 As a measure of urgent redressal of the grievances of the general public a board is displayed in a prominent place in the department informing the public that Asstt. Drugs Controller will be available in his office on every Wednesday between 11.00 to 1.00 PM to attend to any grievances of the general public relating to the Drugs Control Department.

 WHAT IS RIGHT TO INFORMATION?

Delhi Government has introduced Delhi Right to Information Act, 2001. Under this Act Every Citizen of India has right to get any information about the departments. A person who wants to get the information may contact the Information Officer at 4th Floor,F-17, Karkardooma, Shahdara, Delhi-32 for further details any may apply on prescribed proforma with prescribed fees.
