1 CITI Training – Add a Refresher Course 1. Go to the CITI Program website (www.citiprogram.org). 2. Log onto the CITI website using your CITI user name and password. - If this is your first time completing CITI training, you will need to setup a username and password. First, click the “Register” button on the login screen under “Create a New Account.” Next, select “University of Pennsylvania” from the drop-down menu as your “Participating Institution.” Then click “Continue to Step 2.” Proceed through the rest of the registering screens and provide the requested information until the username and password setup is complete.

CITI Training – Add a Refresher Course
1. Go to the CITI Program website (www.citiprogram.org).
2. Log onto the CITI website using your CITI user name and password. - If this is your first time completing CITI training, you will need to setup a username
and password. First, click the “Register” button on the login screen under “Create a New Account.” Next, select “University of Pennsylvania” from the drop-down menu as your “Participating Institution.” Then click “Continue to Step 2.” Proceed through the rest of the registering screens and provide the requested information until the username and password setup is complete.

3. After you log into CITI, you will be brought to your main menu. This will show any previous courses you have taken, as well as course status. To add a new course, select “Add a Course or Update Learner Groups.”
4. Scroll down towards the bottom of the page, and click “Continue to Question 1 at this time.”

5. You will be brought to a screen listing the CITI courses that are available through the University of Pennsylvania. Check the “Protection of Human Subjects” course. Then click “Next.”
6. You will then be asked a series of enrollment questions to determine which specific course is most appropriate.
7. First, you will be asked whether you conduct research at CHOP or are a CHOP-based Penn faculty member. Choose the appropriate answer that relates to you. Then, click “Next.”

Choose the appropriate Course enrollment question here…either Biomedical Research or Social/Behavioral Research Course.

1. You will then be asked if you have previously completed the Penn School of Medicines Patient Oriented Research Course. Choose “YES” as the appropriate answer. Then, click “Next.” (Choosing “YES” is the only way to obtain the Refresher Course Modules)
2. You will then be asked whether or not you would like to take the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) course.
3. Click “No.” Then, click “Next.” (*NOTE: IF YOU CHOOSE “YES”, YOU WILL NOT GET CREDIT FOR YOUR CITI TRAINING).

4. After you input all required information, you will be able to begin the course modules for the Refresher Course. Click the link for the assigned course, and complete all modules associated with it.
