CHILDHOOD ACHIEVEMENTS –

Dr. Acharya Trigunateet

Jaimini is fortunate to have

earned this rare accolade and

shares “Born in classic family

of musicians”. Child Jaimini

was trained up by his

devoted musician mother Smt. Geeta

Devi Sharma who accompanied him on

Tabla at an early age of two. This led

him to giving successful stage

performances of Sitar at the age of

three. It is exceptional that Jaimini since then was

playing in matras 91/ 2, 83/4,

and 91/4 accurately. He also

played a number of other

Taals with fractions, all this

with exceptional skill. In this early age, he also played

“Drut” (fastest speed) laya on stages and Indian

classical heritage

“Dhrupad“& “Dhamar” too.

He has since then

making his own

compositions on the

spot in various”Raagas”

and “Taals”. His first

T.V. programme-

classical performance

on Sitar relayed from Delhi Doordarshan (National )

on 29 Aug. 1985 at an early age of ten years. In the

similar age his Sitar performance in Shri Swami

Haridas Sangit Samaroh Vrindaban (the National Music Concert -15 Sept.

1985) was appreciated by senior Top Artists. In the National Concert of

Hindustani and Karnatak music organised by Shri Raghvendra Swami Mission

Bangalore (1986), it was remarkable at the age of eleven years

that he played “Dhrupad” on Dattatreya Veena

which is exhibited in Sangit Natak Academy

Museum New Delhi and now listed as rare

instrument in the Limca Book of Records.

six-month research on waiting tunes and hello tunes

MUSIC THERAPY-

Acharya is presently working on the miracles of music therapy. It has been observed that vegetation gets a luxuriant growth on the music melodies. Cows produce increased milk after enjoying music. The basic theory of Acharya

Jaimini is that the objects of nature, the plantations, the birds, animals are instant recipients of the musical melodies as they are innocent. The experiences of Acharya Jaimini say that the heights to which human genius can soar, the sublime feelings, the depths of Love and all that the Brahma (Almighty) has created in his delicacy, can best be expressed and felt through the strings of music melodies and probably there can be no better language for such godly experiences. The listeners of Acharya Jaimini are also being benefitted by listening to his music on Sitar, thereby feeling relief from mental stress, tension and sleeplessness, and the various resultant ailments and problem

DHRUPAD HERITAGE –

Vrindaban, the abode of Lord Krishna, situated on the bank of the Holy river yamuna is known for its devotional classical music “Dhrupad”. Bhagwat Puran states that Lalita Sakhi sang in Dhrupad style during the famous “Raas”-dance. Since then this tradition of ancient form of worship of Lord Krishna has been maintained in the temples of Vrindaban. Dhrupad is a particular north Indian style of classical music related to “Vraja”. This was enriched and elevated to godly heights by the celebrated swamy Haridas of Vrindaban, the Guru of world famous musician Tansen. Acharya Jaimini is taking much interest in preserving the „Dhrupad Heritage, He has made Dhrupad performance possible on sitar with its effective presentation in music concerts. Having delivered lectures at various Universities and music institutions Acharya Jaimini says that, Dhrupad playing on sitar, is not easy because bringing sitar to the depth of Dhrupad - “Beenkari & Alapchari” techniques during sitar recital is an extra ordinary thing. This in itself is an effective tranquilizer. Sitar playing being under the “Da-Dir-Daara” strokes, clarity of technical dimensions, deeply presentation of Dhrupad and binding of the flow of “Nom-tom” on mizrab (striker) with “Laykari” (appropriate divisions of speed ) is a practical demonstration of the Dhrupad technique. Acharya Trigunateet Jaimini born, nourished and still living in the vicinity of Nidhiban, the place of swamy Haridas, has been upholding and propagating the same rich tradition on Sitar

From

Holland, a film

on the yoga of

sound Holland-based Indian origin filmmaker Rishi Chaman, who had earlier made Bollywood Blues, is making a telefilm on Nada Yoga in Dutch and English. He says it is a modern, spiritual and musical version of the wellness technique where East meets West.Titled

Nada Yoga — The Secret Of Sound, the 28-minute movie will be telecast on the Dutch Hindu Broadcasting Network OHM. The word „Nada‟ refers to the physical, mystical, religious or cosmic sound."The film will be relevant to watch because you

will see how an ancient, secretive tradition in the East is translated to the West. The focus is on Acharya T. Jaimini, who teaches the authentic, demanding form of Nada Yoga to two of his students, which

is confidential," says Chaman, 32, who was recently in Vrindavan to shoot the film. "In sharp contrast, a German, Tomas Meisenheimer, offers Nada Yoga in the form of a sound massage table to clients, who need a relief from their demanding careers. What is common between these two different approaches is that they offer the tradition of the yoga of sound that can help an individual gain peace of mind," he adds. Earlier, Chaman had directed Laxmi Calling Ling, Sapney and Itch and made documentaries on Indian artistes like Sonu Nigam, Asha Bhosle, Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek. He collaborated with Delhi-based Anupama Jain for the telefilm Nada Yoga. "Anupama was able to persuade Acharya Trigunateet Jaimini, one of the great practitioners of authentic Nada Yoga, to participate in the film. Chaman adds. Jaimini is a sitar maestro and head of the department of music in Mangalayatan University, Aligarh, and his achievements on Nada Yoga are well known. According to Jaimini, "Indian music has its essence in a deep sense of spirituality, along with roots in yoga and Indian philosophy. The theme of the compositions is mostly devotional in nature and many of them also convey abstruse philosophical

concepts in a form that is easy to grasp," he adds. —spicezee.zeenews.com

Musical protest at

Vrindavan to save Yamuna

Vrindavan, April 9 2010 (IANS) The banks of the

polluted Yamuna river came alive to the soul-

stirring strains of a unique musical protest that

bemoaned nature's bountiful beauty turning into

a sewage drain and hoped for better sense that

would one day revive its "divine glory". The musical initiative of Acharya

Jaimini Thursday evening drew cheers

and support from activists, who have been alarmed by the

construction frenzy, high level of industrial effluents and toxic

waste finding way into the river. "The ghats are vanishing, the lush green forests have disappeared,

the birds don't chirp any more, the holy 'kunds' are in a shambles.

All over the Braj Mandal you only see concrete structures, the eye-

sores of modern civilisation," said Acharya Gopi Ballabh Shastri who

runs a water hut for the pilgrims in Vrindavan.

The musical protest to halt further deterioration of the "Heritage

River" was organised by sitar maestro Jaimini. His four-part

composition of Indian contemporary classical music was rendered

effortlessly but forcefully by a group at the river bank.

Speaking to IANS, Jaimini said: "In the first composition the river

enters the plains: realization of ancient Yamuna, then after the

bridge construction there is a sudden jolt and shock and the holy

river shrinks in shock and awe. In this composition, Italian piano

player Ranso also performs. Italian guitarist D. Turi is the co-

musician. These compositions express devotion to Yamuna."

The Indian classical notes bring out the divine glory and the faith

of the pilgrims in Yamuna. The strains are harmoniously blended with

Western musical notes to highlight the destruction and pollution in

the river, the concrete structures all over, Jaimini said.

A CD of the composition, raag Raseshwari, was released by

Vrindavan's Radha Fine Art Studio.
