CISA (Construction Equipment Health and Others) was formed in Rome, Italy in 1946 as a division of the ACHILLE ACHILLI company, operating in the field of sterilization since the beginning of 1900.
In 1961 the company headquarters moved to Pomezia, 15 km south of Rome, where a new factory, with the largest and most modern machinery, makes the extension of the production range possible.
In 1967 it is detected by WELLCOME FOUNDATION and takes the name of Calmic CISA S.p.A.In this period, in the company’s development, the number of employees reaches 120.
Meanwhile, in 2003, using its know-how, CISA implanted a new production unit in Brazil (Joinville, Santa Caterina) where, CisaBrasile Ltda., manufactures products for the South American market.
Hand in hand with the technological development, CISA adopts a trade policy aimed at the world market that will bring the company, in a short time, to be present in all countries.
Today, CISA is taking care of the production, R&D, marketing & sales, and innovations, as well as all after sales services.The entire production is carried out at plants in Lucca in Italy and Joinville, Brazil (for the South American market).
In 1987 the company, named CISA Srl, becomes part of PERINI Industrial Group, headed by the entrepreneur Mr. Fabio Perini. The group, based in Viareggio, Italy, operates in different industrial fields: paper converting machinery for tissue applications, being the traditional core business, and in the same time is recognized in the design and construction of luxury yachts , for which is famous worldwide.
The high innovative impulse brought by the Viareggio group, prompts the Company to take important steps on technological innovation terrain. The entire product range is redesigned in accordance with all applicable regulations, adopting the latest technologies available.
In 1997,this allowed, to be obtained certification from the notified body TUV Product Service, for its quality system with specific reference to the production process of the medical devices.In 2000, thanks to the expansion of the market, CISA is taking over a new phase of technological innovation.In the years from 2000-2003 are designed and manufactured the thermal disinfection washers for surgical instruments, sterilizers using formaldehyde and sterilizers using ethylene oxide, as well as the hardware and software system for the traceability of the instruments.In 2004 is designed and built an innovative system for the reprocessing of the endoscopes. The system, thanks to a particular applied technological solution, allows to have sterile devices at the time of use.The culmination of this important phase of technological innovation comes in 2005 with the presentation of the plasma gas sterilizer.

Web architecture for direct communication between the server and the machines’ PLC through a two-way communication protocol. Cisa is in possession of the company’s quality system on the basis of Directive 93/42 / EEC for Medical Devices (MDD), EN ISO 13485 and UNI EN ISO 9001. These certifications as well as the product certifications, UNI 285 for the construction of steam sterilization systems, EN ISO 15883 are relative to thermo disinfectors as well as for the machines for reprocessing of endoscopes.In parallel with certified quality system and product, being a producer of pressure bodies such as autoclaves and steam generators, Cisa is certified PED 2014/68/EU (formerly 97/23 / EC) for the design and construction of such components.

Cisa uses the latest generation computer tools for its design, using 3D systems for modeling of the mechanical and hydraulic parts, Cad 2D specific programs for the design of electrical schematics / systems and to draft the installation layout of the machines. The technical department uses advanced software for PLC programming and touch screen, and for service issues is able to connect remotely to networked machines installed at customer sites. The software for tracking systems provided by Cisa is developed completely in-house and is equipped with advanced systems of management of the flows in the central sterilization activities using handheld modern wifi.
