14th May, 2015 Decisions On May 3, the Major Superiors met in groups of eight to d religious life in India, and in particular to suggest pri National CRI for the coming three years. Decisions

On May 3, the Major Superiors met in groups of eight to discuss the state of religious life in India, and in particular to suggest priorities to the National CRI for the coming three years.

In line with that, in an open forum on May 4, the Assembly approved of the following proposals by a show of hands. The vast majority supported each of these proposals:

(1) Setting up Regional Consortia of Christian Minority Institutions, following the model that seems to be working well in Tamilnadu;

(2) Setting up a Grievance Committee to take up problematic issues, eg, legal matters between religious and dioceses or parishes;

(3) Organizing aid to the those affected by the recent earthquakes in Nepal, and finding the best ways of making the aid reach them;

(4) Support the move for the donation of eyes (or of organ donation in general), in line with the appeal made by the Claretian group which has taken up this initiative;

(5) Setting up a small team of experts to prepare for the updating of Mutuae Relationes;

(6) Writing a letter to Cardinal Cleemis, President of CBCI, asking him to promulgate the document (prepared years ago, and supposed to have been promulgated in 2014)on the respectful treatment of women in church circles.
