CipherCloud for Any App uses a gateway-architecture to provide transparent access for users to cloud applications, while enforcing security. Granular policy controls let you apply encryption or tokenization on a field-by-field basis for structured or unstructured data. The process is transparent to authorized users and preserves application functionality such as search or sorting of secured data.


When information is encrypted by CipherCloud, the critical encryption keys always remain within your organization. If your protected data is accessed in the cloud by an unauthorized user, it is indecipherable to anyone who does not possess the keys.CipherCloud’s patented technology retains the format and functioning cloud applications, even when data is encrypted. Users can search, sort or report on protected data and return results immediately, while detailed activity monitoring provides unprecedented visibility into cloud usage, security, and content. The solution is highly scalable, and adds negligible latency with a stateless architecture and is easily deployed on physical or virtual servers as well as in private cloud deployments.

The platform can be deployed as a gateway, or accessed via a Web Services API or a Java SDK.◊ AES 256 Encryption CipherCloud uses standards-based AES 265-bit encryption, which is FIPS-compliant and has been extensively reviewed and tested by many independent organizations. This military-grade standard has been deployed for secure government and civilian applications globally.◊ Tokenization Options For organizations with strict data residency requirements, CipherCloud also provides tokenization—substituting randomly generated values for the original data, which never leaves the enterprise. The original data and mappings are stored locally in a JDBC-compliant database.

A stateless architecture requires no local database for encryption. ◊ Flexible Policy Controls Security can be applied on a granular per-field, per-word, or per-character basis. A range of security options let you precisely set the level of security and search-ability for each data type, supporting both structured and unstructured data.
