PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The CIO Leadership Workshop is an executive level program designed for high potential technology executives looking to develop and enhance their leadership skills. We are unique in that we focus specifically on technology challenges, rather than sales or general leadership as do many other programs. Our sessions are taught and facilitated by
current and former Fortune 1000 CIOs and Columbia University faculty that have foundational knowledge as well as practical, real world experience.
The CIO Leadership Workshop provides up-and-coming technology executives with an insight to the skills, techniques and disciplines of the CIO role. Potential participants range from VP and Director-level executives from large organizations, along with small to mid-size company CIOs and VPs.
The CIO Leadership Workshop is also ideal for emerging, high potential and fast-track technology professionals.
CURRICULUM
The CIO Leadership Workshop will focus on technology innovation, leadership, security, strategy,
executive level communication, management and interpersonal skills. The primary focus of the CIO
Leadership Workshop is to discuss, develop and provide insight to the technology professional as a business leader, focused on providing business value. The academic curriculum is developed by Columbia faculty in conjunction with Fortune 1000 CIO
instructors to deliver relevant, timely topics and skills that are critical for career success. The program curriculum lends insight into the aspects of technology challenges and success stories that are critical in becoming a successful technology leader. The CIO Leadership Workshop is a private event with
limited external marketing and no onsite media. This allows our instructors and participants to talk freely about challenges within the workplace without the need for censoring information that may not be public. The openness of the discussion and content is one of the key benefits of the 2 ½ day program.
We also have sessions taught by industry leaders and executives from other professions to round out the curriculum. This provides us with a healthy a mix of academic research, real world experience and industry expertise to provide a well-rounded perspective on the topics addressed.

CIO LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP JUNE 18 -20, 2019
TUITION
Our tuition structure encourages organizations to send multiple attendees. We have found that the more attendees within an organization that hear new ideas, the more likely those ideas are implemented back in the work environment,
which is one of the goals of the CIO Leadership Workshop. 1st attendee $5,000
2nd attendee $2,000 3rd attendee $2,000 4th attendee $1,000
PARTICIPATION
Participation is limited each year to a maximum of 50 attendees to keep the group small. This encourages an interactive environment to discuss and share ideas. Each
candidate is evaluated and approved to ensure the level of executives in the classroom supports consistent and valuable discussions for all attendees. Ideal candidates are SVP, VP, Directors and high potential
Managers of Technology, focused on business alignment,
technology strategy and corporate culture. Executives of all organizational size and industry will benefit from the curriculum topics.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES It is the goal of the CIO Leadership Workshop to provide actionable and practical ideas and strategies that can
be implemented when participants leave the classroom
and return to their organizations. The ideas and skills taught at the CIO Leadership Workshop will provide executives with a toolkit of skills they can implement to become better technology leaders with a unique insight into the attributes of successful technology executives.
At the CIO Leadership Workshop, we strongly believe that there is not a single technique, strategy or methodology that will provide answers to all technology challenges. It is our philosophy when building the curriculum to
provide as many thoughts, ideas and perspectives from experienced professionals as possible. The topics are formulated and endorsed by the instructors as areas they feel are important to success as a technology
professional. By building the curriculum in this fashion, we ensure that our content is timely and relevant.
Participants of the program will determine the takeaways from the CIO Leadership Workshop that will work for their own personal style, personality or organizational structure. By providing the attendee with many different solutions from highly accomplished and successful professionals, we have found that the learnings are extremely valuable and lasting.
