A career in health information combines knowledge and skills from the disciplines of medicine, information
management, business applications and computer technology. Health information management is ranked as
number four on US News and World Report’s list of nine hot college majors.
Student Satisfaction: UC Clermont is proud to announce that our most recent survey of students, Summer
Semester, 2018 demonstrated that 100% of graduates were very satisfied with the Health Information Systems
Technology Program.
RHIT Exam Pass Rate for First-Time Test Takers: We are proud of our RHIT Exam Results. From the beginning of
our program through December, 2017 (the most recent information available from AHIMA), the pass rate for
first-time test takers is 71%. All of our students take the RHIT National Exam as the final exam in the HIT
Professional Practicum class (HCMT2030C), the final course of their studies. This means that 71% of our students
graduated with the RHIT credentials in hand! The remaining students were eligible to site for the RHIT Exam,
again, after graduation. (Most schools do not require students to take the RHIT Exam prior to graduation,
typically resulting in a higher statistical pass rate.)
Employer Satisfaction: As reported to CAHIIM in our 2015 – 2016 APAR Report (the most recent report), 16 of 18
employers responded to our satisfaction survey with 100% highly satisfied with our graduates.
The most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that employment for medical records and health
information technicians is expected to grow much faster than average. Employment is projected to increase 20
percent or more per year. In addition, the Region 5 Job Outlook for 2012 for Southwest Ohio Economic
Development specifically predicts a 26.4 percent increase in job openings.
