Puerto Rico has excellent and affordable public and private universities that are fully accredited and that follow the standards of the U.S. Government. The Campus Puerto Rico program aims to create a unified campaign to promote the academic offerings of Puerto Rico among students, scholars and scientists from Latin America, the Caribbean and the Hispanic community in the U.S. Ms. Rodríguez, will talk about educational opportunities in Puerto Rico for students in New Haven. Ciencia Puerto Rico (cienciapr.org) is a global open-access network of more than 7,000 scientists, educators, and students with ties to Puerto Rico and an interest in promoting science education and careers. The network facilitates bilingual resources that present Latino scientific role models and talk about science in a culturally relevant way. A new collaboration with Yale, the “Yale Ciencia Initiative”, will provide opportunities to apply these resources at a local level.
