    Course Overview

This course aims to equip students with the English skills necessary to thrive in a professional

setting. Coursework will mirror professional scenarios in English including, but not limited to:

creating a proper curriculum vitae, writing formal letters, exchanging information, and

presenting on engineering-related topics. To accomplish these goals, the coursework will foster

and exercise the students reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.

The course materials will be drawn from English sources that will expose students to the politics,

socioeconomics, and scientific developments of the English-speaking world. Students interestedin any aspect of the English-speaking world are encouraged to discuss it with me outside of class

and I will try to incorporate it in the course. Understanding the English-speaking world will

strengthen students ability to use English properly.
