To the left the Revd Anthony is pictured with a Bishop of Uganda. Below is Bishop Paul with the Revd Jonatas, who is Middlesbrough new minister. Bishop Paul is with Bishop Pri-mus, Bishop Gerhard and the Revds James Paice, Simeon
Turner, Anthony Roberts and Jonatas Bragatto. On Friday Bishop Paul was amongst the impressive gathering of 1,950
people, that 50,000,000 Angli-can Christians from around the world. Wow! Please pray for the work of GAFCON as it reaches out and spreads the good new of the Gospel and the love of Jesus.
CAR PARK A few weeks ago, council workers asked Bishop Paul if we would like the lines painted on the Church car park. He could not resist it! But on Monday, last week, the council came again and added a layer of tarmac to the drive and over the bricks. We have been speaking about getting the car park re-tarmacked. We don’t know if the council are coming back to add some more tarmac to the
whole of the car park. We hope they do!

BISHOP PAUL IN ISRAEL Last Sunday Bishop Paul flew to Israel for meetings with people from around the world. Bishop Paul arrived at 2:30 in the morn-ing as his flight was delayed from Frankfurt. Although his flight was delayed he got there safely in the end. He has met with the Archbishop of Sydney, who is pic-tured below, along with Bishop
John. On Tuesday Bishop Paul had a tour of the Old City of David, the tour included a walk-through Hezekiah’s tun-nel that he built when
the city was under siege. At 6am on Wednesday Bishop Paul led a Holy Communion service in the hotel for the UK represen-tatives. The meetings in Jerusalem are to do with GAFCON, of which the FCE are members.

Responding with grace ‘Grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord’ 2 Peter 3:18 Jesus told His disciples, ‘Since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow’ (John 13:14-15). Whose feet did He wash? Peter, who denied Him; Thomas, who doubted Him; Ju-das, who betrayed Him; and all the others, who would desert Him. In other words, ‘Give the grace you’ve been given.’ You don’t en-
dorse the deeds of your offender when you do. Je-sus didn’t endorse your sins by forgiving you. Grace doesn’t tell the daughter to like the father who mo-lested her. It doesn’t tell the oppressed to wink at injus-tice. The grace-defined per-son still sends thieves to jail and expects an ex-spouse to pay child support. Grace isn’t blind. It sees the hurt
full well. But grace chooses to see God’s forgiveness even more. It refuses to let hurts poison the heart. The Bible says, ‘See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many’ (Hebrews 12:15). Where grace is lacking, bitterness abounds. Where grace abounds, forgive-ness grows. Peter writes, ‘Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord.’ Growing in Bible knowledge is a lot easier than growing in grace towards those who hurt you. The first requires a good mem-ory; the second requires a Christlike character. So how do you ‘grow’ in grace? By practising it with everybody you meet, in every situation you find yourself. NEW PIANO/ORGAN Our brand new Clavinova arrived on Tuesday. This Yamaha pol-ished ebony instrument cost £2,850 and is St Andrew’s first new
organ! Can you help? Donations to Bishop please. Thank you for all the donations given so far. The instrument comes with lots of different voices to change the style of worship. If you know anyone who wants the old organ
let Bishop Paul know. We need to get rid of it, and quick!
