The collection was first processed in 1975, and reprocessed with additional materials in 1979. New materials have been added in 2006 with folders inserted to maintain the arrangement of the collection done in 1979. The collection is arranged first by denomination and then alphabetically by church. No effort was made to determine changes in church names resulting from mergers of either congregations or denominations. Therefore researchers are encouraged to check under all possible denominations and names. Para church organizations follow after the denominations. Materials about churches located in other communities in Lucas County may be found in Mss. Coll. 17 Towns and Cities of Ohio Collection. The items in the collection may include annual reports, sermons, record books, programs, histories, and directories. The earliest date is 1841.

Scope and Contents Note The Churches of Toledo Collection is a composite collection of items that have been donated over the years by many individuals.
