» A Marine must be able to keep his word when he gives it.

» Marine should do the right thing even when no one is watching because he knows that someone from above is watching him.

» A Marine should say only truth.

BUT HAVE REVERENCE FOR CHRIST IN YOUR HEARTS, AND HONOR HIM AS

LORD. BE READY AT ALL TIMES TO ANSWER ANYONE WHO ASKS YOU

TO EXPLAIN THE HOPE YOU HAVE IN YOU.

Knowledge

» A Marine must know his job, weapons, equipment, and training.

» A Marine’s knowledge should be shared to others.

» If he doesn’t know something, he admits it and then takes the initiative to find the answer.

Two forms of Courage:» Physical» Harnessing fear is the key to courage. » Taking action to face your fear. Overcoming it is

essential in building courage.» Moral» Stand up for what is right.» When he is wrong, he should admit it as much and

correct himself.

» Decisiveness is the willingness to make decisions, even in the face of complexity or uncertainty.

» He weighs the information that is available to us and we use our judgment to choose among the possibilities.

» It is easier to be decisive when we are clear about our values and goals.

» It also means taking responsibility for the outcome of the decision.

» Initiate goal setting and lead by showing their own enthusiasm for the mission at hand.

» This character trait can be a contagious one. He should spread his enthusiasm to others.

LOOK NOT EVERY MAN ON HIS OWN THINGS, BUT EVERY MAN ALSO ON THINGS OF OTHERS.

» He is constantly thinking of others before themselves.» They are trained to give their best at all times. Only the

best thing is good enough.» Leaders make sure their troops are fed first, have the

equipment and training that they need and are taken care of before they help themselves.
