Not surprising, 2020 has been characterized as “the worst year ever.” And so, join me as together we say: Good riddance! Encased in sickness, fear, and sadly, death, the days of 2020 have been dark and difficult. While history has recorded years of trauma and pain before 2020, this particularly year is unique in that everyone and not just a few within the world, simultaneously experienced the heartache. As we embrace 2021 in hope, we pray for a “healthier and
happier” New Year. May each of us subscribe more faithfully to the principle of “one day at a time.” The sudden turn of events and serious threats to our health in 2020 have been sobering. Made more aware that each day is a gift, we remain grateful for each day as we savor the minutes and hours ahead of us. He taught us to pray: “Give us this day our daily bread.” Confident that God provides all that we need, we renew our faith as we say: Jesus, I trust in You! Happy New Year! Father Fonti
