FALL SUNDAY BIBLE STUDY
The Conference room Bible Study is starting the second part of the two-part series
called: “The Challenge of Islam” from Lutheran Hour Ministries. The second portion
of this study is describe as follows:
“Understanding Muslims means understanding what they believe. In The
Challenge of Islam (Part Two): Defending the Christian Faith, Islamic
assumptions about Christianity, the three phases of jihad, and talking points
for sharing our Christian hope with Muslims, make this Bible Study relevant-and
timely.”
Place: Conference Room
Time: 9:45am
Facilitator: Kevin Hendricks
The Sanctuary Bible Study is titled: “The Meaning of Marriage”
This six week study draws a profound portrait of marriage that neither idealizes
nor rejects the institution but points us to the relationship between God
and man. The result is a vision for marriage that is refreshingly frank and
unsentimental - yet hopeful, beautiful, and relevant for thoughtful believers
and non-believers alike.
The six sessions are:
Service: Marriage Isn’t about You
Covenant: Created to Make Promises
Roles: Loving through Mutual Submission
Singleness: Strengthening the Spiritual Family
Sex: The Act of Covenant Renewal
Hope: Seeing the Great Horizon
Place: Sanctuary
Time: 9:45am
Facilitator: Pastor Majeski & Vicar Mike Phillips

TUESDAY MORNING LIFE LIGHT BIBLE STUDY
The Acts of the Apostles, the Acts of the Holy Spirit, the establishment of the Christian Church as something distinct - not a sect of Judaism - all these make up the Book of Acts which will be the focus of LifeLight Bible study this fall. Although set in the first century A.D., this book is alive and relevant to everyday life in the 21st century. Whether you are new to the study of scripture, a veteran, or somewhere in between, we invite you to participate as together we grow closer to our Lord Jesus. We meet at the church at 9:30am Tuesday mornings.

Estate Planning Toolbox
What are some of the tools I need to complete my estate plan? How do I get started in this process? Our plan has been in place for years, what extra directions might I want to add? Does my will or trust still do what I want it to do? Why would I want to include a Christian Preamble with my documents? What happens to my stuff, if all my direct heirs are gone? I want to leave a legacy to my family besides just an inheritance. What are some ways I can impact them? Are there ways to make a plan that supports my family and still leaves a gift to the ministries that mean the most to me? How can I encourage my kids to be charitably minded? God has been very good to me, what are ways I can honor Him in my estate plan? Can I really generate a monthly income for my loved ones, which includes a gift to my church? Please join us on Sunday, November 15, at 9:45 AM, when Bill Burmeister from Michigan Church Extension Fund will provide some tools to complete your will or living trust, answer questions and suggest some ideas to enhance your current plan. CEF makes Bill available without cost to the church or charge to any of the members of Michigan District congregations.
