TRAFFIC INFRASTRUCTURE

  With a convenient traffic network including highway 1A, trans-Vietnam railroad, Ky Ha seaport and Chu Lai international airport, Chu Lai OEZ can easily link with other domestic and International regions.

CHULAI AIRPORT

Chu Lai airport has been in use commercially since April, 2005 with flights between Chu Lai and Tan Son Nhat International airport. The flights between Chu Lai and Noi Bai will be soon developed.

Presently, Chu Lai airport has total area of 2,300ha. Lying under international airway A1; It is about 30 km from Tam Ky City, 45 km from Quang Ngai City and 100 km from Da Nang City.

-  Chu Lai airport is allowed to “Open to outside world” with 3 key functions :

+ Goods transporting

+ Passenger carrying

+ Big plane repairing and maintenance.

-  Vietnam Government approved to upgrade Chulai airport to an international one according to the standard of International Civil Aviation Organization with the capacity of 4.1 million passengers/year and carry 5 million tons of goods per year

- Allowed to attract investment in form of BOT.

- 

- Part of Middle Land’s sea ports system.

- At present Ky Ha port is able to receive ships of 7,000 tons and under construction

to receive ships of 10,000 tons in 2010 and ships of 20,000 tons in the coming years.

- Besides, Ky Ha seaport is supported by Da Nang deep-water port system (Tien Sa port

and Song Han port) in the North and Dung Quat deep-water seaport of 10 km in the South.

- Length of wharf can be expanded to 10km

FUNCTIONAL PROGRAMMING

Chu Lai OEZ is a general economic zone including many functional sites such as free trade zone, industrial parks, tourism sites and urban complexes.

-  Total area of land for industrial development is about 3,000ha, including 5 industrial parks : + Tam Hiep industrial park + North Chu Lai industrial park + Chu Lai - Truong Hai industrial park + Tam Anh industrial park + Tam Thang industrial park

- These industrial parks have good location with good infrastructures of traffic, power, water and telecommunication for production. Chu Lai industrial parks intend to develop light, clean industry with high-tech.

- Planned area: 650ha

- Scope: and assembling electronic components, telecommunication, health, child toy, glass, construction glass, handicraft goods, garments and internal furniture, civil goods, mechanical equipment...

Investors have the rights to choose and decide suitable model to implement their projects and are given the best investment incentives in Vietnam about space, tax, support for workers residential buildings, support on training and supplying workers.

- About space : maximum duration of land use is 70 years and is extendible. According to a competitive rate, investors do not have to pay for land use for 11 years, 15 years or during the time implementing projects.

- About tax : + Turnover tax is 10% percent within 15 years. Investors will

be exempted from turnover tax for 5 years since the time having taxable turnover, and will be reduced by 50% of the amount for taxes in 9 coming years.

+ Reduce 50% income tax for individuals with taxable income + Free import tax for goods used to make fixed assets;

exempt import tax within the first 5 years for materials that are still not produced in Vietnam for production purposes.

Administrative procedure

+ Simple procedure, minimum duration of asking for investment permission.

+ “One stop” service, Chu Lai Economic Zone Authority is responsible investment procedures. Investors will not have to pay any kinds of service expense except for fees regulated by the Government of Vietnam
