The approximate year of birth of SreeSai Baba is 1838.

Sree Sai Baba is deemed to have spent12 years with his Guru. No one knows

for certainty who was his Guru. It wasperhaps a Sufi Fakir or Venkusha aliasGopal Rao Deshmukh. Some say thatBaba spent 12 years, under the Margosa(neem) tree in Shirdi, in an under-ground cave, near his Gurus Samadhi.

Arrival of Devidas, at the age of

10-11, in Shirdi.Sree Sai Babas manifestation in Shirdiat the approx. age of 16, under theMargosa (neem) tree.

Sree Sai Baba carried water pots froma well on his own shoulders, near themargosa tree (present site of theSamadhi Mandir), for creating and

tending a garden. Saint GangagirMaharaj said that Shirdi was blessedwith the presence of this Gem.

Sree Sai Baba disappeared from Shirdi.

Sree Sai Baba re-appeared in Shirdi withmarriage party of Chandbhai Patils

Bhimaji Patil from Narayangaon cameto Shirdi for a cure for his tuberculo-sis.

Balasaheb Bhate, on his very first visitto Shirdi, was given ochre clothes byBaba which resulted in Bhatesdetachment from worldly life.

Till this year, there were manyoccasions when Baba cooked in hisHandi. Then the naivedya brought by

the devotees increased to such anextent that all were amply fed with-out Baba having to do the cooking.

Ramchandra Atmaram alias BabasahebTarkhad from Bandra, Mumbai, forthe first time, came to Shirdi.

Moreshwar Pradhan from Santacruz,

Mumbai, for the first time, came toShirdi.

Annasaheb Dabholkars first darshanof Sai Baba and being named asHemadpant.

B. V. Deos first darshan of Sai Baba,because of Chandorkar

Shriman Butti of Nagpur began tostay at Shirdi.

Harishchandra Pitales son was cured;and he was given Rs.2/-.

Baba saved the life of blacksmithsdaughter by thrusting his arm into theDhuni and his arm got burnt, on

Kashinath Govind Upasani arrived inShirdi for the first time.

Upasani composed the Hymn to theglory of Sree Sainath (Sree SainathMahimna Stotram).

Babas grinding wheat to eradicatecholera in Shirdi gave an inspirationto Hemdapant - Dabholkar to writeSree Sai Samarth Satcharita.

Dadasaheb Khaparde again cameto Shirdi with family; and stayed inShirdi for 3 months. Krishna JageshBhishma, who became the author ofSagunopasana, came along with him.

Wamanrao Patel, later on known as

Swami Sai Sharanandji, came to Shirdi,for the first time, at the age of 22.

Chandrabhan Seth, uncle ofKushalchand of Rahta, died.

Capt. Dr. Hate came to Shirdi, for thefirst time, as a youth and had appeared

for the LMNS examination.

Sree Ram Maruti, belonging to theNath Panth, of Thane, Bhiwandi,Kalyan, came to Shirdi and stayed for34 days.

Sagun Meru Naik came to Shirdi

at the age of 23 and began runninga public eating place at Babascommand.

Khapardes younger son, Balwant,cured of bubonic plague.

After Megha completed the repetitionof the Gayatri Mantra according toMantra-Shastra, a feast was held for the

Brahmins and other devotees at SathesWada.

Renovation of the Masjid and pavingof its flooring, followed by Babaoccupying a proper seat and giving uphis usual gunny bag.

Purandares wife and mother.Wamanrao Patil i.e., Swami SaiSharanandji, again came to Shirdi andstayed for 11 months. He was approx.24-25 years old.

Dabholkar retired. On the occasionof Gurupurnima AnnasahebChinchanikar, on his own, appealed

to Baba to ensure that Dabholkargets another assignment.

Baba indicated that his Mahasamadhiwould take place at the time ofSeemolanghan in the future, when hebecame anger personified and threwoff his clothes in the Dhuni.

Ramchandra Dada Patil became illand Baba gave him a dream darshanand told him that Tatya Kote Patelwould pass away two years hence,substituting Tatyas name for his own,at Vijayadashmi day.

Gopal Narayan Ambdekar, a devoteefrom Pune came to Shirdi. Because

of his financial state, he decided tocommit suicide but Baba saved him.

Hemadpant, by giving him an impor-tant lesson along with a handful ofsugar candy after the Arati.

In the very early hours of the morn-ing of Holi Purnima day, Baba gave adream vision to Hemadpant and toldhim in the dream that he would becoming for lunch that day but he ac-tually appeared in the form of aframed portrait which was brought

by Ali Mohammed who met him 9years later and indicated the reasonfor giving that gift.

In the month of May, Lok ManyaTilak came for Sais darshan withDadasaheb Khaparde.

Haribhau Karnik of Dahanu had adesire to give Re. 1/- more to Bababut his wish was unfulfilled. However,at the Kalaram Mandir, Nashik,Narasimha Maharaj demanded onlyRe. 1/- and took it from him.

In appreciation of Appa SahebKulkarnis devotion, Baba visited hishome in Thane & asked after the

welfare of his family and thenextracted Rs. 10/- as dakshina fromKulkarni in fulfilment of his wish.

Upasani Maharaj settled downpermanently at Sakori.

Moreshwar Waman Pradhan bought

the Lendi Bagh and later on gifted itto the Sansthan

Prof. Narke, son-in-law of BapusahebButti, got assignment at EngineeringCollege of Pune.

As Baba knew that he would shortlybe leaving his mortal coil, he entrustedKarim with food and Rs. 250/- to begiven to Shamsudin Fakir inAurangabad to do rites according toIslam. Karim was also asked to reachBanne Mian with a message, namingthe day and the month of Islamiccalendar when the Light would beextinguished.

Das Ganu Maharaj completed theStavanamanjari at Maheshwari onthe banks of the Narbada River.

As Baba had fever for the last 2-3 days,he decided to abstain from food andhe became weaker day by day.

Sai Baba told a devotee named Vazeto commence reading Ram Vijay andhe listened to it for 14 days.

Baba gave Mukti to a tiger of thedervishes.

On Vijayadashmi Lakshmibai Shindereceived from Baba a charity of Rs. 9/- and later on the same day around

2.30 pm, by which time it wasEkadashi, Baba left his mortal coil.

Laxman Mama Joshi got a dreamvision of Baba calling him to doKakad Arati in Shirdi. Das GanuMaharaj also saw a dream in whichBaba told him that He was leaving

Shirdi and he should hasten withbakul flowers.

Staunch devotee Amirbhai Shakkarfrom Bombay and the Mamlatdarfrom Kopergaon arrived. Debates &disputes took place about the sitewhere Babas body should be interred.Ultimately, Butti Wada was chosen

procession and then interred in thegarbha of Butti Wada in theevening.

Thirteen days after Babas Mahanirvan,the obsequies were performed by thedevotees, led by Balasaheb Bhate &Upasani Maharaj.

Nanavali, deeply mourning Baba,passed away on the thirteenth day,calling out to Him: Kaka, Kaka, as heused to. Nanavalis Samadhi isin the Lendi Bagh.

Seth Kushalchand passed away.

The devotees in Shirdi appointed a

committee under the Chairmanshipof Bapusaheb Butti to organize dailyrituals at Babas Samadhi.

Nanasaheb Nimonkar passed away atPune.

Narayan Motiram Jani of Nashik had adream vision of Baba coming out of a

cellar and assuring him that his healthwould improve and that he would beon his feet within a week.

Anna Saheb Dabholkar got an assign-ment for six months at the Secretariat.

Bapusaheb Butti, the builder of thestone wada which has become the

Samadhi Mandir, passed away atMumbai.

Nanasaheb Chandorkar passed away atKalyan, Mumbai at the age of 61.

Sree Saibaba Sansthan wasestablished, with the consent of theAhmednagar District Court.

S.S. Navalkar bought Sathe Wada andhis heirs gifted it to the Sansthan in1939.

Balaram Dhurandhar passed away atthe age of 47.

Hazrat Tajuddin Baba passed beyondthe veil in Nagpur at the age of 64.

Bapusaheb Jog passed away at Sakoriat the age of 70. His Samadhi is nearDatta Mandir.

Kakasaheb Dixit passed away at the ageof 62. (Ekadashi of Jeshtha month

Krishna Paksh).

Ganesh Damodar alias Dada Kelkar,father-in-law of Rao Bahadur Sathepassed away.

In the month of Jeshtha, Satcharitawas completed, but in Chp.52, the

Avatarnika i.e. the Table of Contentsor Review was not found thoughDhabholkar referred to it. Therefore,Shri Balkrishna Dev wrote it andChp.53 was thus added to the book.

Khaparde passed away at age of 84.B.V. Narasimha Swamiji of Chennai,began spreading the word about SaiBaba and this resulted in people fromSouth India coming to Shirdi forpilgrimage.

Wamanrao Patil took Sanyas, at theage of 64 and assumed the name ofShri Sai Sharananda

Abdul Baba passed away at the age of83.

A huge marble Murthi of Sainath wasinstalled in the Samadhi Mandir andthe Pran-pratishtha ceremony wasdone at the auspicious hands ofSwami Shri Sai Sharnanandji.

B.V. Narasimha Swamiji passed awayat the age of 82.

Das Ganu Maharaj passed beyond theveil at the age 95 (Kartik Ekadashi).

Lakshmibai Tukaram Shinde, who wasgiven 9 coins, passed away.
