Group Investigation

Purpose

To develop an interpretation of various ambiguities in CDF– Why wasn’t Santiago Nasar warned of his

impending murder?– Why did Angela accuse SN? – Who was the real victim?– Why was the murder foretold but not prevented?

To persuade your audience that your interpretation is the most valid– Based on evidence from the text– Based on your creative and analytic analysis of

that evidence.

Project

Create a record of your investigation including the following– Photos/images/drawings that illustrate your claims– Statements and Interviews with various people

involved in the situation (3-5)– Documents that are mentioned in the texts that

will support your case eg the note that was slid under SN’s door The magistrates documents noted in chapter 5

Presentation

In a presentation of 5-10 minutes, show your findings to the class. This can be live or on video.– Each person should present one piece of

evidence, try to work with your strengths If you are artistic--draw sketches If you are an actor/orator--do a character statement If you are a writer--create a document
