market!

The Plaza Mayor market dates back to the 19th

Century and it’s found in the city’s most beautiful and

well-known square!

The Feria Dulces de Navidad takes place in

Plaza Isabel II. This market is perfect for those with a ‘sweet-

tooth’!

If the weather’s cold, the freshly fried churros dipped in hot chocolate

will help keep you warm!

New Year’s Eve (Nochevieja)

As the clock strikes midnight, those in Sol, together with the

millionswatching on television eat

twelve grapes to bring them luck for

thenext twelve months

The festivities certainly do not end after 25th

December! Every year on New Year’s Eve,

thousands of people pack into the Puerta del

Sol.

Día de los Reyes Magos Known in the English speaking world as the Epiphany,

the arrival of the Three Kings is defined in Spain by the huge expectation and the massive celebrations that

revolve around the event.

On 5th January, Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos takes place and

people crowd the streets to get a glimpse of the reenactment of

the arrival of the Three Kings into town.
