DAY 2 – Budapest, HungaryWelcome to Budapest! You will be met and transferred from theairport to your Emerald Waterways luxury river cruise ship. Afterboarding, enjoy some time at your leisure to explore Budapest. Thisevening, join your fellow travelers with a traditional Hungarianwelcome dinner. DAY 5 – Vienna, AustriaToday, you will explore Austria’s capital beginning with a drive alongthe Ringstrasse, where we will see the sights of Vienna’s world–famous attractions such as the Opera House, Burgtheater, Town Hall,St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Hofburg Imperial Palace. After thetour, enjoy your free time to visit the wonderful Christmas marketsof Vienna which are set up in 15 different squares in the city. DAY 6 – Dürnstein – Melk, AustriaIn the morning we arrive in Dürnstein, one of the most enchantingvillages of the Wachau wine region. This is the site of the castlewhere Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned after returning from thecrusades in the 12th century. Thereafter, you will drive through thepicturesque landscape of this district to the 900–year old BenedictineAbbey of Melk, which features Austria’s finest Italian baroquearchitecture. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 7 – Passau OR Salzburg, AustriaCruise along the Danube this morning, in the afternoon we reachPassau. Cobblestone streets and graceful arcades welcome you in thisbeautiful city. On this afternoon’s walking tour, stroll through the oldtown’s narrow alleys and see the hilltop Oberhaus Fortress from thetown below. Visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral, a wonderful example ofBaroque architecture and home to Europe’s largest church organ withmore than 17,000 pipes. During your leisure time in Passau, why notvisit one of the traditional Christmas markets in town.
