Christmas is Coming

Christmas is coming Christmas is coming, I recognise the noise, Colourful paper being ripped from toys, Petrified turkeys mumbling their prayers While stocking-brokers buy and sell mistletoe shares Christmas is coming I recognize the smell, Sulphur and blood,( oh no sorry that's hell). Mince pies steaming, a little mulled wine Clementine peel and the Christmas pine Christmas is coming, You can see it everywhere Partridges up in the trees eating pear Snowflakes are falling, the ground's turning white It's the X-factor final on TV tonight! Christmas is coming And we're all feeling fine Even alcoholics are encouraged to open some wine. Mum's drinking Baileys and Dad's in good cheer But wait, is that reindeer and sleigh bells I hear? Christmas is coming Be off quickly to bed A hairy, old man's on the roof dressed in red Santa's about in his reindeer Range Rover One more night and at last this long wait will be over. Christmas has come And has woken the nation Our kids are at peace (now they've got a Play-station) And though toys that cause cancer are a Lapland no-no Still my youngest is thrilled with his Hamster Go Go.

Christmas is comingChristmas is coming,I recognise the noise,

Colourful paper being ripped from toys, Petrified turkeys mumbling their prayers

While stocking-brokers buy and sell mistletoe shares

Christmas is coming I recognize the smell,

Sulphur and blood,( oh no sorry that's hell).Mince pies steaming, a little mulled wineClementine peel and the Christmas pine

Christmas is coming,You can see it everywhere

Partridges up in the trees eating pearSnowflakes are falling, the ground's turning white

It's the X-factor final on TV tonight!

Christmas is comingAnd we're all feeling fine

Even alcoholics are encouraged to open some wine.Mum's drinking Baileys and Dad's in good cheerBut wait, is that reindeer and sleigh bells I hear?

Christmas is comingBe off quickly to bed

A hairy, old man's on the roof dressed in redSanta's about in his reindeer Range Rover

One more night and at last this long wait will be over.

Christmas has comeAnd has woken the nation

Our kids are at peace (now they've got a Play-station)And though toys that cause cancer are a Lapland no-no

Still my youngest is thrilled with his Hamster Go Go.

Everyone's got a gift.Nan's opened up a Stannah stair-lift!

A jumper for me, from Aunt Jean, what a treatBut you're right it won't hurt me to keep the receipt.

Christmas is doneAnd we've all had a riot

Eaten too much and climbed back on the dietSpent too much money and made ourselves fat

But we've peace in our heart now Rob's back in Take That

Yes, Christmas is doneAnd the tree's looking sad

Though we'll always remember the times that we had.Soon the New Year will start with a twelve o'clock grope

And we'll all be reborn amidst fireworks and hope.
